If I had to guess, at this point we will no longer be looking to fix the O-line or Corner through FA, probably will try to bring back Henderson but thats about it.
I expect them to fix those needs through the draft.

This could be another dark horse to land Bell. Imagine Bell and Deshaun Watson on the same team, that would be pretty fun. The Houston Texans also have some good pieces on defense as well, so Bell could see them as an intriguing destination

I'm leaning down this path as well but if the team is going to grab any FA for the OL, they will focus on a LT. There should be two viable options but we'll have to wait and see if they and their agents are sniffing glue when they set their prices in FA.

LT- Donovan Smith / Tampa Bay / 25 Yrs Old / Penn St / Completing Rookie Contract / 1.93M in 2018.

LT- Trenton Brown / New England / 25 Yrs Old / Florida / Completing Rookie Contract / 1.90M in 2018.

Both of these guys could see their value soar based on NFL teams needs of experienced LT's. I wouldn't be surprised to see their value get close to knocking on the door of Solder......that could make it tough.

Brown I can agree with but from what I've read here Smith is not much of an improvement on what we have

I generally think we fans overrate past connections, but Smith was at Penn State the same time as our head coach.

why? How much is too much for Gaine? Players focus on guaranteed $ and overall money for bragging rights as few get all of reported contractual amounts either being cut or reworking.

Remember excluding his injury year 2015, he avg 1300 rushing and 600 catching per season. I understand the age thing but doesn't Peterson argue against? Sure he is an exception so why cannot Bell be who is years younger and turns 27 YOA next Feb and that ain't over the hill. Being away from football for 18 months(by Sept) is not necessarily devastating and IIRC Bell has never appeared out of shape to preseason.

Everything you are are saying I agree with. I want Bell here just as much as everyone else, just trying to potentially view it from front office point of view. Alright so with the projected cap increase incoming what would you view as a good contract for Bell? note we have to be able to resign Kareem, Tyrann, probably will end up tagging Clowney.
 
Remember he turned down $19 million guaranteed: 2019 signing bonus $10 m(G) and prorated over 5-6 year deal so cap hit <$2 per. Base guaranteed at $10 m so there is his $19 m in first year with cap of only $12. Bang 2020 with same so he has $ 29 guaranteed and throw in another million for easy to make incentive. His 2021 (year three) becomes guaranteed day one of season so another ten equals 30-31 guaranteed and he ends that season 29 YOA with remaining seasons as not guaranteed and could cut.

Why doesn't somebody like SteelB or Badboy get in here and start pounding table for our needs in the Oline ? I don't get it ?
 
because we all know we need OL help. I am not surprised. Let's be honest, a couple of those were on DW4, but the OL looked pretty bad. Offense only looked good in spots and running was horrific 47 yards rushing, 26 by our QB Is Foreman going to ever make an appearance?

And how many of those were on Watson? Either receivers aren't open or Watson isn't seeing them. Either way, he can't keep holding the ball that long.

No sense in beating a dead horse.

Keeping Watson healthy is the biggest thing. He didn't have a good game today. But he came up big when the team needed it the most.

This team is 4 solid players away from being as good as any ream in the NFL. With tons of cap space and four picks in three rounds I expect those needs to be filled this offseason.

Good times are ahead.

Yes, but I don't want him throwing it away every time he senses pressure either. He's got to find a happy medium. I really feel like moving the pocket would help immensely. He's done a much better job of avoiding defenders in the past when he's rolling out. He's not doing so well dropping straight back.

No on Foreman at least next two. Blue was horrible regardless of how you saw Oline. A so called power back, he constantly ran into his blockers rather than holes. He has no vision and zero cut back skills. He should not be extended and another reason to get Bell.

Yep and not to hammer my position if we can get Bell, at least Cajusty and Scharping and a corner in draft we will look really good. I'd like to trade Lamar Miller for a second or even a third perhaps to K.City? We then use that pick to support Bell.

I think Watson is still impacted negatively by Coach. Let him do his thing. I am not usually a fan of QB running frre but Watson is unique with some sort of built in radar. That one play where he was ruled in grasp and still got loose was sheer crazy. Me:"no, no, no, yes, no, yes, yes! Oh heck."

The only thing about next year I have hopes for is Gaine building a good team, and there's no proof yet he knows how to do that. They really need to have an OC next year, and if they don't do that, it'll just be more of the same.

And next year we aren't going to have an easy schedule like we did this year.

1. Add Talent and Gaine's 1st draft was very promising.
2. Ryan will be the OC next yr.
3. Keep Watson healthy and hopefully he learns when to throe the ball away.
4. Improve the OL.

Good times are ahead.

We have the Chiefs, Saints and Chargers on our schedule next year as road games. And because of our 1st place finish, you can probably add the Steelers and Patriots to that list as well.

Gotta improve the OT/CB positions and this team can beat anybody. It will be harder next yr playing a 1st place schedule and the NFC South.

Still, win the division and ur in.
Colts will be tuff agin next year with Luck getting healthier so our dude needs to keep progressing and for that he is gonna need some help.

Unless someone better I'm ok with Ryan at OC and wonder if perhaps he is the QB whisperer rather than OBrien and how much credit he should get for Watson's 2017? Ryan definitely has history with WRs and QBs and two S.B.s IIRC. Will he get nod is the question perhaps with a nudge from Cal?

Maybe Watson should get credit for Watson's 2017.

This is part of a long streak. Backup QBs come in and win when OB has to go off plan. Maybe the plan sucks.
 
If Ryan is selected as the OC.....then I want OB to be hands off much in the same way he is with Crennel. I want OB to be 100% focuses on becoming a better NFL HC......that ill-timed TO is just another case against OB, that he just isn't learning or progressing at the job of HC.

Tell me again why K.C. wouldn't just draft another RB, when they've been very successful doing just that.

Good question and one that I had to research and ponder on. Most analysts I have reviewed think Chiefs needs are defensive back, edge rusher and RB.

Chris Jones DE is signed thru 2019 but will also be wanting a huge deal. DE Justin Houston is counting for $40 m next two seasons.

We all know what happened with Kareem Hunt and with literally no one to replace him, I'm thinking KC may want to sign a splash FA (Lamar Miller?) and use picks to shore up possible losses on defense. Fortunately for them they can lose one or two and still draft pretty good players for long haul. They will be picking later so many defensive guys will be gone. Do they spend a top three rounder on a back or spend the cap as I'm hoping Texans do? Spencer Ware is a Blue like backup.

Side note, I really like their Corner Kendall Fuller but don't see how we can pry him lose in a trade

Still trying to find somebody to trade Miller too.

How about the Chiefs bring back Ware/Williams and draft a RB like Love/Singletary or Henderson in the 3rd. Certainly you would get more bang for your buck vs trading for Miller.

Definitely get your thought as I have thought same. IF KC able to keep their D intact, they will not have money to do much so they may choose to trade some cap to get a "name" RB to replace not only Hunt's stats but his flash. Miller if injury vs Colts not severe may fit both. Love has been JAG this season. Singletary at Florida Atlantic just the opposite and is a TD machine but light to replace Hunt IMO. He could be a change of pace back in NFL but not what you want to lead & same with Henderson. I am not against taking RBs from lesser programs like Memphis but don't see these guys as what Chiefs will be looking for. Harris may fall to them in second but he would have to get by Texans' Seattle pick (for me) and if off season falls as I think, KC doesn't want to use first three rounds on a back.

Side note: still trying to work a trade with KC to get Kendall Fuller if they lose Dee Fuller and Bailey; something like Miller and Clowney for ILB Dorian Daniels and CB Kendall Fuller.

It's unrealistic because the Chiefs aren't going to trade away their best corner to a team that they will be competing with in the AFC, it's unrealistic for them to trade for Lamar Miller who is very average at his current price tag, it is unrealistic for the Texans to trade for an ILB when they have 3 young ones that they feel very highly about. Just nothing in that proposed trade scenario makes any sense for either side
 
Watching the Colts beat Dallas I paid attention to their OL and was not surprised at the excellent performance. The Colts and Titans have put in place a long term OL that will only get better. We truly need some high round OL studs if we plan on keeping up with our division.

Not to worried about Mariota going forward.

Luck and that improving defense suggest it will be a dog fight for the AFC Crown.

CB and OL are huge glaring needs right now.

The Texans are an AJ Boyue away from being a dominant defense...dope.

The Titans drafted guard Chance Warmack #10 in 2013 . Just think if he panned out .
