St. Louis Rams @ Houston Texans. Noon. 10/13. FOX. **Official Game Thread**

After your starting QB gets taken out of the game. Your back up QB throws two stupid passes & three ho-hum passes. When the defense gifts you a first down 5 or 6 yards from the goal line, how do you throw three more passes with Arian Foster averaging almost 9 ypc at that point?

Is he trying to prove something or is he trying to win the game?

I thought he was the 4th best kick returner this year.
That's because of his 20 kick returns (most in the league) he's had four really big runs including a 49-yard return. But sadly, the other sixteen make you want to throw up. For the most part he catches it and runs forward five yards and that's it. But hey, that's better than his pick six fumble in the last game. I think we're fooling ourselves if we continue to trot him out there on special teams.

he is 4th in terms of yards per attempt while returning kicks with 26.3 yards

but 25th while returning punts with an average 4.6 yards

(ironically at 26 you find tavon austin)

I never liked all those young WR we have, except for #10 and Trindon.

Keshawn Martin isn't that explosive of a return man. He does have some promise as a wide receiver but very little if that. I understand they didn't want to keep Trindon Holliday because he offers nothing as a wide receiver, but isn't it funny how the Texans were 5-0 last year when they released him, and all the Broncos have done since signing him is go 11-0 last year and 6-0 so far this year?

Our boy Trindon hasn't lost a regular-season game in forever. Even the playoff game the Broncos lost to the Ravens back in January, 38-35 in two overtimes, he did his part with two sensational Touchdowns: 104-yard kickoff return and a 90-yard punt return.

Keshawn Martin, I doubt he'll ever take a kickoff or punt return to the house - he has a big fat 0 in two seasons now. He'll never be a big game changer like Trindon Holiday is. Having a little potential at wide receiver doesn't impress me. He'll never become a pro bowler or anything special at wide receiver or on special teams.

I just hate when the Texans give up on really good players too soon. And they shine on other teams. All because we may have the worst special teams coach in the league. But because he's buddy buddy with Bob McNair, you can bet your ass that Joe Marciano will never, and I repeat, NEVER, be in danger of losing his job.

Right before Trindon was cut I kept posting that I thought the Texans would cut him when everyone else was counting them on the 53 man roster (when we were sitting around projecting this stuff). I didn't say that because I thought it was the right thing to do, but I said it because the team is as predictable as their offense and defensive schemes (you can do this with or without the rim shot). This team has some allergic reaction to elite speed. It doesn't seem to know what to do with it. I figured they valued one of their mediocre players at the end of their bench over something dynamic and one-dimensional.

People really have their anti-Texans management blinders on again. This isn't directed towards you Vinny but everyone that doesn't seem to remember. Trindon Holliday was TERRIBLE. TERRIBLE. Read it if you can't remember: Holliday Experiment is Over. He couldn't hold on to the ball and made bad decisions on when to take it back. Everyone was glad to see him go. He was released because he wasn't performing and we had injuries. Now he's referred to as someone everyone wanted to keep but the Texans released him because they are dumb. Jacoby Jones is another one. The entire city wanted him gone after the muff in Baltimore. He was released because he wasn't fulfilling his potential and was too expensive for "just a returner".

Both those guys are having success. Is it coaching (Marciano sucks) or the change of scenery? I don't know but I do know that everyone wanted both of those players gone. Can't blame the Texans for getting rid of them.

I think you're missing the point. Your memory is correct, but no one is saying Trindon was all that & a bag of chips when he was here. We knew he was a one dimensional specialist, but he had value. Our ST coach... who most people outside of Reliant, wanted gone could not find a way to exploit that talent. Trindon, then Jacoby moves on & they're contributing to some pretty exciting seasons of other teams. Whether we're talking about blocking for him, or helping him understand when to take it out of the endzone & when not to, or not letting those gaffs define the outcome of their games.

Trindon Holliday will be on Denver's 53 next year. No question about it. They won't even consider it because they've realized that value. Jacoby... he's still got to prove himself as a receiver to justify the money he's making, but they'll ask him to take a pay cut before he's outright cut.

Quentin Demps is starting at safety for the KC Chiefs. He's recorded an INT in each of the last three games. He also returns kicks for them & he's scored a TD for them in that role, while we're going to be rooting for Shilo Keo to not screw up.

Anyone expecting Keo to return a punt for a TD? Anyone expecting him to INT an errant pass?

This loss did a real number on the Texans......and the Rams...........unfortunately in the wrong direction for the Texans.......waaaay wrong direction.
