That's 6 spots we need to fill, which means we better not waste any picks, and we better find some sleepers late in the 5th or 6th round.

Offensive line is a big hole, and the class is weak at this particular position. This position needs to be filled in the 1st or 2nd round.

Defensive Tackle is also a weak position in this class. However, after the 1st round, there really aren't too many worth taking in the 2nd. So this position should be addressed in the 3rd round or later. However, since the position is so thin, I expect alot to go between the 3rd and 4th round.

Running back is usually an easy position to fill. If Peterson is not there, or we pass on him, look to draft a RB in the 3rd round or later.

Strongside Linebacker is the weakest position in this class and shouldn't be addressed until the 5th or 6th.

This draft is plentiful in secondary players. However, there is no elite talent at CB and the FS position is one of the deepest in the draft. Look secondary in the 2nd or later. You shouldn't have to draft CB/FS in back to back rounds, so if you draft either position early, then you can pick the other later in the draft.

Analysis
We have to get an OT sometime between now and when a DE breaks our QB's neck. Why not go for the 2nd best one who has shown flashes of being great? We need to upgrade the speed in our secondary as well as their instincts. Meriweather is a speedy ballhawk who can support the run and has coverage skills. Brown is a big DT who may not impress you in practice, but once the game starts, he can really rush the passer and pursue. Brandon Jackson is a guy who might not have elite speed or burst, but it's enough. He has good vision, hits the hole hard, and has great hands. Corey Graham is my sleeper pick. He has average size for a CB and supports the run very well. Has good ballskills as well. Dedrick Harrington fills a spot that really isn't a need, but we do need to upgrade. He has good size and can put on more weight, and has been pretty productive in his 4 years. Was the team captain and has good character. A former safety. Played MLB last year, might not be the ideal fit at SLB, but he'd be more productive than Orr.

You forgot QB, LG, C, RG, RT, SS, DTs, DEs, CB

Some of our players are serviceable, but most of our starters would be second stringer on 90% of the NFL teams out there.

There will be no quick turn around here.

There are not so many holes to fill, at least not as many as last year. TE, DE, RT, WR, and MLB are good to excellent. Guards, FB, DT, QB are decent. Center, RB, OLB, and CB/Safety needs to be addressed.

Personally, I think the Texans have most of the players they need on offense. A good lineman or (preferably) two and a running back is all the Texans need for a solid offense. Really what they need is a good learning curve. The line needs to pick up on its blocks. From what I've read on the board, I'm convinced they are still learning the new schemes and making silly mistakes.

The defense performed better than the offense this past year, but I still think the Texans need fresh blood on this side of the ball, just not as desperately as it is needed on the offensive side. What has hurt the Texans defense is that the Texans keep drafting players in the first round that sputter. Except for Dunta and Mario, I haven't seen a great defensive player who lived up to their hype. So I'm going to leave it OLB and cornerback. I expect one of these positions to be picked up in FA.

The Texans have a great defense. Adding an OLB or CB could put them over the top. What is needed is to double-up the players, meaning that Dunta is good, but would be great if he had another good CB opposite him. Demeco is phenomeno but would make better plays if he had a better OLB.

I'm satisfied with LG Chester Pitts, RT Eric Winston or Spencer, DE Mario Williams & Anthony Weaver.

I think a strong push will be made to wrap up a corner in F/A or a high draft pick. This player will take pressure off L/backers and increase pressure on QB and plays against the run. CC & Earl will be ok with 2 CBs to help. I expect a much better season from DROB. I think the dline will flesh out at DT with several candidates who will be better this year. A lot of adjusting to both lines were done on the fly last season. McKinney can hold the center position with a healthy Flannagan to spot play. Hodgdon may not make team imo. IF AP is available and NOBODY can guarantee yes or no, the Oline, receivers and QB( just got better).

I'm not a Pitts fan at all. From my vantage point in Section 119 I get a clear view of Pitts in action every other quarter, and while he’s not a bad LG, he’s not a good one either. Way too many blown assignments.

I like Winston too. I predicted after the draft that he would beat out Spencer for the LT position. I was wrong. Winston didn't get any playing time until the end of the year and his performance was mediocre at best. The old knee injury seemed to hinder him more then I thought it would. Maybe he'll do better this season.

Also, I like Spencer too, but again, he has a serious injury which he may not recover. Yeah, I've heard the lip service Kubes is feeding the press about Spencer’s recovery; I'm just not buying it until I see him perform on the field. Kind of like Dom Williams. When he's back, he'd back, but until then his career is over.

Williams & Weaver are ok, but Williams was being blocked by the TE on a lot of plays and neither one of them is bonafide pass rushers. Williams may have been hindered by the injury last year, I’ll give him that. We'll find out if he's any good come spring.

Anyway, there are just too many questions with these players that have yet to be answered. Until these questions are answered, you have to plan for the worst and hope for the best.
