Solution To The WR Prob...???

I know we just lost Gaff... and Mathis may not be ready to be the #2 Wr we are looking for. But why not draft Vince Young and turn him to into a Wr. He's huge and fast at 6'6 or 6'5 he could easily out jump corners. Also with his speed and quickness it would be hard for them to keep up with him. He could also pass on trick plays, and if DC dosent work out you still have VY for later on :twocents:

Because I don't think it makes since to spend a #1 pick on a wide receiver, but then again he could also be insurance in case Carr just doesn't work out. I still don't like it though.

NOT going to happen. This is amusing. Half of the people on this board think Vince is a project at QB. Why would you even think about drafting high on a project QB to be a project at WR??? You are going to receive a lot of backlash from pro AND anti Vince Young enthusiasts on this board. Good luck!

I thought Vince didn't want to play WR in the NFL.

He might pull a Eric Crouch and retire before ever playing if put in that situation.

He came out of college for the cash...he evidently needs it...football is all he has

Ok this is over-used on the boards but this thread starter definitely calls for it....is that you Charley?

Not really, he came out becuase he has done all that there is to do, and his stock couldnt have been any higher after his showing at the Rose Bowl. Other than the Heisman, he has won all the awards has a national championship ring. Oh, and he refuses to play any position besides QB.

There is no way that any team would ever pick a project player with the first pick in the draft. But if we did decide to do somthing like that we would still draft RB and put him at WR.

As has been stated on this subject several times throughout the last several months, this would make no sense. Vince is tall for a WR (6'4.5" BTW, not 6'6"), but he is not especially fast for a WR, and he's definitely not going to outrun any NFL CBs, and probably can't outjump many of them either, but I don't know what his vertical is. If you want a big WR, there are several in this draft that are big, as fast if not faster than Vince, and have played WR throughout their whole college career and are used to it and would be much better choices than trying to convert Vince to WR.

lol man why do you insist on acting like a vince young expert when you have seen him play like 4 times?

you thought vince ran a 4.6 40, and that gaffney was faster than him.
