So is anyone else really excited about the draft?

Or is this just me feeling nerdy?

Either way, I'm really pumped about it. It feels good having the top picks in each round with a draft this deep. Yeah, it sucks that we had to go 2-14 to get the top picks, but we can't change last year. I'm looking forward to seeing what we do. Hopefully we get Reggie Bush. I'll be slightly dissappointed if we get Mario Williams, but I won't complain too much. Both are extremely talented. I'm also hoping Ashton Youbouty, local kid from Klein HS, drops to the 2nd round. It would be awesome having a tandem of Robinson, Youbouty at corner. The 29th can't come soon enough!

Only kidding, I can't wait for three weeks after the draft when banter starts to die down about who we drafted. I am worried about next Saturday's killer MB numbers. I'm thinking at least 1200 people on next weekend.
 
I am really anxious for the draft too...I just dont know if the messageboard has the bandwidth to hold all of whom will be coming on...What time does the draft start again and what day is it on? Either way we get a great player...Bush - Brick - Williams - Young... I see us chasing Williams or Bush but are we forgetting our line sucks? I guess our FO wants a playmaker...lets do this

I do too hope for Bush. But if its Mario, I wouldn't complain either. They both are a protential Pro-Bowl caliber of player anyway. I was thinking about later round of draft pick. Since we aren't drafting VY, why don't we pick McNeal(NO offense but poor man's VY)? That is if McNeal falls in the 6th or 7th rd. I would like to see how well he competes with other back up QBs we have on roster. What ya'll think about this? Would it be just wasting a draft pick?:rolleyes:
 
Draft time is always an exciting time, and when you've had as bad a year as our Texans had last season it's a reason for hope. We've already been pleasantly surprised by our acquisitions this offseason, and the draft is just a continuation.

I always follow the draft closely, and I'm pretty much locked into ESPN throughout draft weekend. We all have a player or players in mind, but no matter the outcome we'll still be one step closer to the start of the regular season. Which is what we're all waiting for anyway.

As for the draft, coverage begins on Saturday, April 29th, on ESPN at 11 am our time I believe. The first three rounds will be completed on Day 1, and then on Day 2 rounds 4-7 will be completed. They usually air about 4 hours, the last couple rounds, of the draft on the second day on ESPN 2.
