Another trade I could see is with Detroit:

2020 round 1.3 corner Jeff Okudah 6'1" 202 Feb 2, 1999 41 Tackles one INT for 36 yards and 2 passes defended.

2021 round 1.3 OT Penei Sewell from Oregon. Opted out in September of 2020. 6'6" 330 tested positive C19 missing rookie camp.

2022 round one both estimate at 1.3 and 1.29.

Got to clean up the mess before thinking about a trade. Shoots dude might not play another NFL game.

Nope. If and when the mess gets cleaned up and a trade is doable I think it will go down quickly. Thinking about something before it happens is what I do.

DW4 is a sex addict and like any other addiction, he needs help. However I don't see him asking for help. So I hope he pays a steep price for what he has done.
I don't buy it. Sex addiction is not a clinical diagnosis in either the DSM or ICD medical classifications of diseases and medical disorders. And it has been extensively studied by psychiatrists, psychologists, sexologists, and other specialists.

Honestly, Watson seems to have the same mental problem as my neutered dog that won't stop dry humping my cat.

I just can't put heroine addicts and alcoholics in the same addiction category as someone that is horny and seems to have no internal self-control or moral convictions.

You're right that he most likely needs help, but he needs to see someone that specializes in mental health issues, not addictions.

As someone who smokes and drinks a bit more then they should, I know a little about addiction. I don't know clinically how sex addiction is defined or who's right or wrong. Nor do I care.

Every person has a moral compass. Dw's is pointing south.

I'm willing to let the justice system play out and maybe he's innocent? I wouldn't let my daughter, sister, or mother within a mile of the guy though.

Valid point, it's a situation that seems like he (or people in this situation) feel empowered. Mentally they feel that they have done nothing wrong and likely that people are out to get them.

I do not know if the money listed in the Forbes article are correct but I get that he earned 29 million + from football in 2020 + 8 million off-field money. I know he has lost some endorsements but I do not know if he's getting any money from other sources including the cheese steak corporation that he merged with. If in the end he has to give back some of his signing bonus he should still have enough money to survive no income from any Source in 2021.

He appears to be sitting on his previous earnings and looking at the $119 million of his next four NFL years.

40 minute video with three Dolphins fans discussing DW trade.
1. Miami had made moves to build up trade package prior to claims
2. Flores does not want Tua Tag
3. Pro bowler X Howard savings in a trade would pay Watson's 2021 season
4. If NFL was going put W on CEL would have by now
5. NFL female investigators questions chased off the women she spoke with
6. Discusses Texans trading Fuller and McKinney to Miami as I had suggested.

Dude hasn't a clue , no trade is happening before his legal issues are resolved. That's an absolute fact.

I'll repeat what I asked several months ago, please provide what section of the collective bargaining agreement states that a player such as Watson cannot be traded to another team under similar circumstances.

We can revisit this post after this season.

No owner is going to invest in the Pervert this yr. Regardless of what the CBA says.

This isn't about the NFL CBA - its about common sense.

What GM in his right mind is going to trade for a player if they don't know When OR IF that guy can suit up ?

There will be NO TRADE until there is resolution on both the criminal and civil charges.
It would be downright ignorant for a GM to deal for him prior to that happening.

While I agree with you, we must remember we are talking about NFL general managers.

You can find an ignorant NFL GM / owner a little north of Houston. Some have no qualms about getting in bed with the devil.

Bad actors get re-signed all the time if they can play at a high level. Watson will play in the NFL again, count on it. Follow the money.

Some judge is about to get a windfall.

Yep, can you imagine how the Philly fans would be if Roseman gave up say two 1st rd picks for the Pervert and the Pervert got convicted on all of the criminal charges and was sentenced to 40 yrs? The Philly fans would provide great entertainment long after Roseman was fired. In a way I hope this scenario plays out like this.

Its not about getting in bed with the devil , its about ending up with nothing to show for your assets.

There's a real chance he could end up in prison and that is why there has been and will be no trade until that issue is settled.

No GM is going to make a trade until the criminal cases are either dismissed or he's acquitted.
The civil cases are really irrelevant , that's the getting in bed with the devil part that several of these NFL GM's would most certainly do.

We don't know how things will work out.
If we end up with nothing to show for our assets it will be due to a criminal charge / sentence for Watson.
Not really something we can lay at the feet of Caserio / Texans.... Well, most of us won't..:D
The question that remains is what did they know and when did they know it?
Could the team have been more pro-active in dealing with this mess? idonno:
Most likely outcome is that we will be able to trade Watson at some point. That is when we will need to be patient.
That's when we count on some GM :bigboss:wanting Watson bad enough that we recoup some of our "assets".
Really disappointing for fans that after waiting so long for a franchise QB, this is how it turns out...:pissed:

I believe Cal knew about the Pervert long before this became public. They chose money over doing the right thing. They're going to have to pay a price for this decision.

All of the rest of the stuff is just speculation on the price to be paid. Ranging from 40 yes in prison to being traded for 3 first Rd picks.

You know how I've always felt about the Pervert, so I will be very happy when he's history and it would make me very happy if his NFL future was history.

Right, they may have known he’s a quantity over quality guy. Many in the NFL are. Many his age are.

But there’s little reason to believe they knew what he liked behind closed doors.

I truly believe Watson thought he could escape scrutiny by running from it. Just my speculation.

I’m in the belief of that scenario too. He knew he was moving wrong out there. So a new fresh start somewhere probably was the main factor on his mind.

If Eagles or dolphins or any team for that matter trade for him and he is sent to prison I think there would be no money to be paid to Watson. If true, the team would be out the trade package but could still feel it was worth risk. Could a contingency be put into place to cover a time Of up to the 2022 draft? With the Texans be good with that?

Watson plays 6 games Texans keep one round one. Plays 12 Houston keeps two round ones and one player. DW plays entire season with no NFL suspension or jail time Texans keep entire package. For example only

The contingency would have to be for the 2022 season. It's looking like Watson will be available to play the 2021 season.

The legal process will begin in Feb 2022 with depositions, with trials not beginning until months later and may not conclude until sometime in 2023. Once trials begin, though, is when Goodell may place Watson on the exempt list. So his availability in 2022 is in doubt.

Almost no one here other than me thought he would play this season. Teams are use to taking huge risks; look at Bengals selecting Burrows 1.1 then losing him for season with injury that could've ended career. Different risks but same results.

Everyone insisting that commissioner would place W on the list already. Now you're saying 2022? Again not necessarily arguing the point.

Once the judicial system actually starts, then Watson will be missing team time, maybe for weeks in a stretch in the case of trials. This is why Goodell could place Watson on the exempt list at this time. From what I've read, all this will be coming to a head sometime in 2022, jeopardizing the 2022 season.

A team in the win now mode very well may be interested in Watson for 2021 and willing to risk future availability and be willing to ride out the legal process beginning in 2022.

I just don't know Watson's trade value with that scenario. Certainly less than if his future was more defined, I expect.

Many here have noted that a

trial if any may not begin until 2023. If so that makes 2023 the season in doubt correct?

Top 5 QB 25 years old coming off that 2020 season statistically with only $10 mill for 2021?

Recently NFL teams have traded round 1 picks for defensive players with only one-year left on their contracts IIRC.

Maybe trials won't start until 2023. I'm just guessing they're more likely to spill over after beginning late 22 during the season. But, yes.

And in another thread I agree with your trade scenario. In this case, I expect the trade to materialize faily quickly so Watson will have training camp time with his new team.

If Watson truly just wants to be gone, the possibilities for a trade will be more limited than earlier this season. He may not have much choice which team to go to.

Wait..that cannot be possible! We have been assured no team will trade for W until 2023 if then. I thought there was NO WAY the NFL would allow a trade? This must be preposterous! Right?

3 round ones and possibly even more is ridiculous to even ask for as no one would offer that, correct? Just ask yourself what team would want him for face of team?

I have a suspicion that Mike Florio did not even write this article. I personally think it was that bad boy character that posts on this message board too frequently if you ask me.

A dumb team who feels Watson is all they need to get a SB would give up 3 1sts. And if lucky it would be like the Walker trade. We would get all the picks like Dallas did and use them, FAs and players we already have to suddenly have a 10+ win SB contender

I disagree. There are no criminal charges against Watson or they would have happened by now. As any civil trial gets closer, negotiations will increase. The civil suits are nothing that money won't make go away.

I have to believe that if the NFL allows a trade to happen, then it means they will not put him on the exempt list. Any team that trades for him will surely do their due diligence and confirm this with the league office. There will be several teams willing to trade draft capital for a proven franchise QB.

I don't think 3 first round picks is too high a price for a 25 year old franchise QB coming into his prime when more than 50% of first round picks are nothing special More Than 50% Of First Round Picks Are Busts And Other Terrifying Draft Statistics (theriotreport.com). It seems unlikely that any NFL team would exchange significant Draft capitol and/or players at this time for DW4 but keep these things in mind: (1) some teams (owners/GMs), most likely know certain vital info re the potential settlement of these cases that none of us are privy to, (2) Never underestimate the risk taking appetite of some NFL owners in their ambition to win the prize/SB,
(3) Texans ownership most likely growing very weary and frustrated by the Watson situation may have substantially reduced their
expectations/threshold requirements to move DW4.
