Texas wide receiver Jordan Shipley will return for his senior season in 2009 after the NCAA granted the school's hardship request for a sixth season of eligibility Monday.

Shipley missed the entire 2004 and 2005 seasons because of knee and hamstring injuries. But he regained his health, and he produced a career-best 79 receptions for 982 yards and 11 touchdowns this season to earn third-team All-America honors from The Associated Press.

well he has the potential to be a first round pick next year if he produces like he did this year

Most of the time, a guy with his exposure would be a first round pick no matter when they came out. Might move up a round or two, but i think if the NFL thinks was a first rounder in 2010, he would be one in 2009.

does he have a degree yet?
Should be working on a master's now. Actually...Texas law says classes taken after 120 hours have been completed, or 4 years, will be a lot more expensive as the class no longer falls under public education. I'm thinking he's had to take 3 hour semesters or so to retain his scholarship. Then again, I have no idea how an athletic scholarship works.

At this point, his age is only going to hurt his draft stock. He'll be 25 I believe when he is drafted, meaning he'll be older than Mario who will have been drafted #1 overall 3 drafts prior. (Mario, Long, this draft, THEN his draft).
