Sexual Assault Suits Against Watson

The inherent problem with local sports media is that hardly anyone cares about the Houston Texans beyond the Watson story. They are a boring franchise in just about every way.

They have no other playmakers worth reporting on, Culley is clearly a yes-man placeholder and is really not that interesting, they are not going to be good in 2021, and those that have any answers with the organization won't answer questions beyond their corporate-newspeak non-answers.

This notion that they know something we don’t. Look there may be nothing else to know that isn’t already known….that’s what’s frustrating from the media’s coverage standpoint. Not every thing is a conspiracy or cover up. What’s known is known.

So I won’t put it on the Texans FO/coaching staff b/c they really just may not have any “answers”.

helluva predicament he has put them in & I don’t think I’ve seen anything like it. Even if all the civil & criminal stuff were to go away tomorrow, the organization would STILL have to contend with his request for a trade and making sure they got good enough compensation.

Agreed,

Surely they will give Culley a couple of yrs.

I like the guy and especially some of the experienced coaches he's put on his staff. Plus a few young guys. It's a good mixture of assistant coaches. IMHO

I dont like the nepotism of Lovie's son being on the staff, but that hire probably had to happen to get Lovie to come on board.
Steel, you indicated before that you own a business. Have you ever hired a family member?

Does anyone remember when Watson’s lawyer got the first letter from Buzbee to settle out of court?

And I am not meaning Hardin. I mean his agent/lawyer or media person.

Is there a link somewhere?

Don't have a link, but I'm thinking January, just based on memory.

Thanks. Found it:

Texans have THE WORST media in the NFL.

Barshop ONLY tweets/posts about Watson. She’s getting paid to basically do nothing. When Reiss isn’t admiring himself in his official Mahomes jersey - he has one - all he does is regurgitate BS internet analytics like PFF, most of which he just borrows from other TA writers. These two are a complete waste of air.

Sometimes I wonder why does these clowns cover Houston Sports. Most of them aren’t fans of Houston Professional Sports.

The front office knows why Watson wanted out just four months after signing a massive deal.

It is naive to think otherwise.

Beyond that is speculation, but the owners/Easterby certainly know more than they are willing to share. We know that just by our own insiders.

I don't expect the corporate-sponsored "news media" to actually dig any deeper because investigative journalism is pretty much dead in this country.

Indeed which I don’t understand the rush for the trade
From Texans standpoint it is better to get him out of the state sooner than later. For other teams I think they're hoping to get a top five NFL quarterback for nickels on the dollar. They will worry about legal and public reaction down the road.

I continue to wonder about all the posters who used to demand that Texans bring in players based upon their on-the-field capability despite their off-the-field shenanigans.

The " I don't care what a player does in his off time" mentality...

I and a very few others wanted players representing our city with good moral fabric. Those were the days my friends I thought they would never end.

I'm willing to give a guy a break if he has a bad night and does something he will regret the ret of his life. As a christian that's what I was taught to believe.

I draw the line at serial sexual predator. Or Rae Carruth. LOL.

This whole process involving DW4 & the plaintiffs sure makes a travesty out of the 14th Amendment.

How so? The State of Texas hasn't thrown him in jail or branded him as guilty based on allegations. It's going through due process right now to determine guilt or innocence, and even if he's cleared in the eyes of the law, that doesn't necessarily mean he's really innocent (see the Cosby case.)

The 14th amendment doesn't apply to citizens making up their minds, coming to conclusions, or having opinions about someone's guilt or innocence.

I object your honor. This trial is a travesty. It's a travesty of a mockery of a sham of a mockery of two mockeries of a sham. I move for a mistrial.

Your honor. The lawyers, media and court of public opinion have treated these "yutes" in a manner that makes a travesty and mockery out of the 14th Amendment.
