Sexual Assault Suits Against Watson

NDA's only apply to civil cases.

IF the DA picks this up , they can testify in a criminal case regardless of the NDA.

Why would the DA bring charges after a civil agreement was made ? Because there is evidence that the individual is a threat to society , a predator. I believe the large number of victims makes this quite likely.

This isn't like Roethlisberger's case at all.

The women would have to press charges for the DA to get involved, unless they wanted to be a prostitution charge or two.

The Feds could certainly be a part of it though. They almost never convict, but it is usually a good way to force a plea to something like RICO. Keith Raniere is the only notable sex trafficking conviction in recent times. And he was the genius that literally recorded himself telling his second in command to do the sex trafficking. They tried it on Epstein and R. Kelly, but they ended up with lesser charges.

Going back a second time to the same therapist after his first "rebuffed" experience.............and doing the same thing and worse..............that's at very least sociopathic behavior...............and a pattern not uncommonly seen in sex addicts.

dw can nix a trade. Folks are coming down hard on the ownership and FO but what about his freakin agent? Nobody talks about him. DW isn’t talking to the Texans but I’ll bet he’s been on the phone with his lawyer agent several times a week the last several months. What did his agent know? Perhaps he wanted DW out of Houston before they learned what was really going on.
Good point about DW no trade clause.

The fact she allowed him opportunity for a second try implies gullibility at the least.
It also doesn't ring quite right.

One thing is for certain, if these allegations prove to be true, then the football gods have it in for Houston.

Nope, ownership just screwed up by not trading him when Hopkins was traded. They knew some of this stuff was going on. There will be a price to be paid for putting ticket sales above doing the right thing.

Should have taken out the Clemson trash in one fell swoop.

That’s possible but then I’d have to question why the team failed to pull the trigger on a trade deal rather than risking being stuck with this mess or getting pennies on the dollar in a trade deal.
I'm not certain on how this works, but since the allegations came out before the official start of the league season, I believe any trade for Watson could have been revoked?

I still don't like the timing of this situation and the sudden piling on by women coming forward. First, Watson is nothing more than a professional athlete with no power in the political scene.

We know that this issue was first brought forward about a year ago. Busbee was pushing for an out of court settlement in the six-figure range. Watson refused to pay and suddenly we find ourselves in the current. The women coming forward is suddenly at 11 and probably counting. Some of these women were victims multiple times.......if the first experience was so traumatic, why allow him to come back for a second experience? Did someone put a gun to these women heads and tell them you're going to accept Watson as a customer for a second time?

I'm not trying to let Watson off the hook but I just don't like the timing.

Big question......is this situation bad enough for the Texans to null and void Watson's entire contract and permit the organization to seek restitution of the signing bonus given?

Allegedly. A lot of posts insinuating Watson is already guilty.

The guy is guilty. You have over 10 people saying the exact same thing. And not just in 1 state. Let's not forget that at least 6 said near the same thing and NO details had been released yet.

What are the chances this is the reason a character coach was brought to Houston?
What are the chances the McNairs and Momma Watson staged an intervention?
What are the chances that after OBrien was fired that the Texans org began to distance themselves from Watson internally, sparking the request for a trade and the tweets about "Loyalty"?
There is more to this story.

Yep. I think all of it is connected (IMO). The owners might not have known how deep they were, but they knew the troubled waters surrounding Watson was something that they could not rectify by themselves. Hence the initial attempt to hire Caserio, then hiring Easterby to eventually hire Caserio. They needed a real GM that comes from a background known to handle tough issues and still come out winning.

I would fully agree with this except DW4 was on the hiring committee.

Except there ultimately was no committee and apparently it was just lip service to Watson. I think O'Brien looked the other way to his shenanigans and Watson wanted another "player coach" that would not hold him accountable. When he realized that his massive contract granted him no special front office powers, he started pouting and wanted out. JMO

I'm one of the fans in these parts who's been extremely critical of the ownership for acquiescing to O'Briens perplexing and controversial trade of Hopkins to the Cards. It kinda altered my attitude, my sentiments about the franchise.
Another board member who has some internal contacts with the Texans told me way back last Fall the Texans &Watsons own mother were very concerned about his personal relationship with D-Hop.
Anyway if that relationship and this situation with Watson & the masseurs are somehow tied in together I might need to reconsider some things, but problem is most of us will likely never come close to learning the full and complete story.

Us fans can only respond to what we know. And regardless of what anyone claims, absolutely NOBODY on this board had a true idea of what Watson has been up to.

We do have some trustworthy folks that have shared some information considered 'insider', but it was vague and not this specific.

As new information comes in, then our perceptions change and our perspectives follow accordingly.

I fault nobody for giving anyone the benefit of the doubt and even responding to the information presented to us, especially when it comes from national media sources shedding light in areas of operation that none of us have been privy to before that point.

Note to self - do not google requests for oily buttholes

My buddy did not believe this part, so I, of course, had to prove it to him. Now "Deshaun Watson oil anus" is a permanent part of my Google search history. d'oh! :brickwall:

I should have made him look it up on HIS phone! lol

No is the answer to this question.

I'm waiting on HPD's investigation. My guess is Watson is done for, the only question left is if there will be any compensation to the Texans in the form of draft picks when he gets his perma-ban from the NFL.

According to Florio this a.m. (fwiw), Watson might end up on the commissioner's exempt list and the Texans will be required to pay his salary unless they cut him.

Watson is going to set the Texans back in more ways than one for the foreseeable future.

She claimed not to know it was DW the 2nd time...she says she was only aware that the upcoming client was an athlete.

One incident occurred at the spa where she's employed & another incident was at a hotel (the spa manager drove her there). I'm unsure which visit was the initial...

Bad form in accusing the NFL in only paying “lip service” to women’s abuse issues. And I truly hope that woman didn’t have big hands. These accusations just don’t seem real.

I guarantee there will be an out of this contract if Watson is convicted of criminal charges and winds up in jail.
That is not Texans fault.

She certainly knew what he looked like.....so she got to the door and realized it was the same perverted customer she had in the past.....she didn't leave the front door when it was opened and saw Watson standing there or asked to be let out of the room when she realized it was Watson’s room. If Watson grabbed her and drug her into the room against her will and/or prevented her from leaving the room would change this situation to kidnap/rape, right? If so, Watson is toast and will need to remove any idea of playing football again. If the Texans organization had any knowledge of this situation.....they should've been far more proactive. They could've started with a suspension for conduct detrimental to give him a wake-up call.

That's what I figure, as well. It just stinks that many of us were looking at the so-called 'bright side' of losing Watson by getting draft capital. . .before last week, of course.

It might just be me but with 13 cases (with more to come) filed now, how is it the first time we have heard anything about this stuff before this last week?

We are speculating and trying to make sense of this nonsense, but I'm not buying the Texans knew about this and hired Easterby and/or Caserio to fix it. IMHO, Easterby and O'Brien were too busy with their power grabs to know about Watson and if they did, they are bigger idiots to have given him that contract.

From what I can figure, the NFL starts compensatory picks from the end of the 3rd round on.
It would take an awful lot of bottom 3rd round picks to compensate for the loss of a franchise QB.

Yup unfortunately how much he makes at next gig determines comp pic. I don’t think prison pays all that much

I'm not trying to say for sure one way or another and I've no doubt some will rake me over the coals for this but reading this part I was reminded of something. It was reported that Watson really, really wanted EB as his coach even though there seemed to be no connection between them. Well one of the big marks on EB's record is that during his time at Colorado he was named in the cover up scandal on rape charges and using sex and drugs to recruit players. Again I'm not saying one way or another but it is kind of strange to me that Watson was pushing for a coach he had no ties with that has that kind of history.

How long before we heard about Cosby or Big Ben or Cuomo? How long was Jeffrey Epstein able to play on his sick island? Its not uncommon for these things to all come out at once, usually its because one woman has the courage to come forward and then others use that to tell their own story. I'm not saying thats the case here but there is a history to explain why it took so long and why its all comes down at once.

I think they knew Watson was partying and that they suspected he might be hiring hookers. Those things, while bad, are not uncommon in the NFL so they might have figured its not a good enough reason lose a franchise QB. I don't think they had any idea all this was coming down. I've never bought into the "power grab" story and there is zero evidence to back it up. It just fits with most people's ideas of OB, Easterby and the Texans in general so its easy to believe, same reason some people can't even consider the possibly that Watson is guilty, it just doesn't match whats in their heads.

I am now at the point where there may be a little too much smoke for there to at least not be a little fire. However, I am 99% sure that at least some of this is fabricated. Especially the couple of lawsuits that state there was a second and third times they met with him.
The culture we’re living in now is a guilty until proven innocent one where people can throw allegations out there and see if they stick with barely a repercussion as far as charges being filed for it.

You know, one of the allegations says he ejaculated onto the masseuse. I wonder if she kept her clothes from that day. Evidence right there.

Doubt it, in most of these cases the women themselves destroy alot of evidence because they feel dirty afterwards. Its another thing that make these kind of cases so hard because not only it is hard to get solid evidence but then the victim is often actively destroying evidence.

I understand that aspect.
It just seems odd that not one of these 22+ women mentioned anything before now...how many SMP's are out there including Twitter and Instagram...

Well to be fair they are only vetting 22 women, of that number only 7-9 have had actual cases filed. Could be that the other 13 or so have what amounts to "He looked at me funny."

Someone said they won't be compensated via draft picks but they can recoup contract monies.
Based on court ruling in Michael Vick case Texans can recoup monies not earned which is virtually all of it. DW4 may get to keep $5.4MM because he was on the 80 man roster at the start of league new year 2021. Of course this all based on DW4 being convicted of criminal charges.
Vick can keep $16 million in bonuses: court | Reuters

Look at it this way - Jane Doe (plaintiff) confides in her best friend Mary about Watson. 10 more friends find out then it is out there.
There is no way in this day and age that this sort of story does not gain some traction to the point that we hear about it.
And we're talking 22+ women here.

Not only that, didn't one of these "massages" happened like 3 weeks ago? WTF is wrong with this dude?
If these complaints are true, it indicates a pattern of deviant behaviour and needs to be dealt with.
These charges are serious so one would think there must be substance to them.

Does anybody have a link where you can read all 13 allegations? I’ve tried looking it up myself but I’m technologically stupid.
