Fans say we have priority need OLB and CB position is stacked, yet Texans draft corner. This says to me that CLowney is recovering well.

The Chargers gave up 2 picks to leap frog over Houston and draft Gurley. They must have thought we were going to take him.

As bad as we need QB, C, and WR, we pissed away our 1st pick on a CB who can't tackle. Disaster. Cam Erving and Phillip Dorsett are already gone now and Petty soon will be. Picking Johnson was the same thing as giving up without a fight. The Jaguars were the king of bad picks but the Texans just usurped the throne.

Except the Chargers took Gordon. gurley went at 10.

I wonder what Bouye looks like at safety.

Post over in the who made the pick thread since you know.

This has Rick's stupidity all over it. I am sure BOB wanted Gordon. Rick assured him that he would be there. This guy is NEVER AGGRESSIVE in the draft. He got played like usual. If you can't see what happened you are blind. I am sick and tired of McNair and Smith. ****ing sell the team and get rid of the worst GM in recent Houston sports history.

Gurley went 10 overall. Chargers jumped us for Gordon who I don't think we would have taken.

No extending JJo and drafting a CB in the 1st 3 rounds made sense.

Knowing we had Luck and Mariota in the division plus probably figuring the Colts would add a WR to replace the loss of Wayne, drafting a top CB in the 1st made sense

Just about every game. He'd either blow an assignment or get burnt and get benched in favor of Morris

WTF i never recall this happening. I do recall a lot of our back up CBs getting a lot of playing time. But i do not recall him making a lot of bone headed plays. Not to mention it was his first actual year to play in the NFL, so i think he did a pretty good job, and seemed to get better as the season went on.

Pre AJ being canned I was all over a CB or a WR as a 2 year deal. Now we have a 1 year overlap on CB against 6 weapons and no ability to score points. Gotta score points. The Colts are going to get theirs.

ok

carry on with your beliefs

You're normally so sunshiny... You're response here is really messing with my head.

I was just as soon ready for a trade back & see what happens, then we take this guy & I'm like, "Meh..." wasn't expecting it even though I've seen several people mock CB to us.

It's funny the confidence you have in Bouye, Morris, even Hal, funny because I'm confident in them as well. Confident because they got a lot of snaps in 2014. They got a lot of snaps because we play a lot of nickel & Jjo & Kjax got nicked up quite a bit... & Jjo isn't getting any younger.

Now that they have his replacement, I wouldn't be surprised if they finally approach the geriatric cover man about that pay cut that's about 12 weeks too late.

HAHA i sometimes am a realist. Oh well maybe OB knows what he's doing, maybe not. I guess we will see.

Totally agree.... still lots of very good WR's left on the board

I have all the games recorded, i just want a few examples so i can see what your talking about. Because i honestly do not recall that happening.

go back and check the game day threads, because I know it was beyotched about

Yeah but we have so much GOOD depth at CB right now as it is.

Really? Not sure I see it. We have two CBs that are not quite #1 quality (JJo at least used to be), and what? Bouye? As long as teams keep going down the Run and Shoot path (excuse me, the spread), we need to be able to defend multiple receivers. Hell, the Colts will have Hilton, Moncrief, AJ, and two very talented TEs. They can pretty much have their way with us as far as manipulating matchups.

I'm a fan of the pick. They're planing for JJo's departure, and this is the right way to do it. Of course, the guy has to pan out for it to be a good pick, but I like the thought process a helluva lot more than drafting an outside pass rusher that never pans out EVERY FREAKIN' YEAR.

You are a joke of a moderator.

Love the pick. Everybody talking about Luck, Bortles and Mariota.. Only one is proven. I say no to extending JonJos, butI would rather not extend an older player in my opinion. With Watts pressure and good CB play, our defense will be solid for years.

The colts have always had their way with us, one more CB will not change that, nor will our LBs who can't cover. Colts will get theirs, they always do. I think he is a good player, i saw him quite a bit in college. I just feel we should of addressed other needs with that pick is all.

I don't get all the hate.

Is it because we passed on Dupree? A guy who is an athlete, but never lived up to those physical tools? The comments I read about him implied inconsistency. I don't think this justifies the hate because that would be putting too much emphasis on the potential. We need to replace Brooks and honestly considering all the hate he got during the season I'm surprised by this logic.

ILB can be had later in the draft.

WR after Parker was taken off the board the value dropped off. The separation from the receivers after that isn't that wide. We have a solid core of receivers with a go to guy in Nuk. Having multiple stars at receiver does not guarantee success.

I'm not going to trip. I remember when we picked Watt the board was like, "Why did we pick him? He's a Mario Williams lite! )itch, moan, piss, etc." How did that work out?

Then we moved up to get Nix and everyone was like, "Smith finally pulls an aggressive move. Fits a need, praise, nut riding, etc." How did that work out?

We have a good team, we have good coaches, we added talent before the draft. Calm down, it's not that big a deal.

If Mallet or Savage turn out to be a solid QB, we should be able to score points. Andre is gone, so what, the qb position is the problem here not our WR's.

I was hoping Parker fell to us, and he came closer than some believed he would - who knows if him lasting another couple of picks would have changed anything.

With Parker gone, (and if there was ever any real chance Gordon would have been the pick, I'm glad SD jumped us to eliminate that possibility), then I would have been okay with Dupree, Johnson, and Perriman - although Perriman a distant third in that list.

Totally fine with the K Johnson pick at the time it was made - even more so after reading through this thread.

LOL he's the same size as Joseph.

And CB is a position of need. We're just filling the need before it becomes a sinkhole. By the time Joseph is gone his replacement will already be trained and ready to step in.

Yeah, I'm not getting the frowning of this pick. I must have been one of the only ones that was wanting a CB, but I'm happy about this pick. I just wish he was more physical.

We didn't need to try and make some sexy offensive skill player pick. Until we have the QB position locked down, I want to turn this team into a Seattle Seahawks type of squad that will be ready to contend once we have that guy. Continuing to stack this defense is key to me. I'd love to get that safety from Bama if he slips. Doubt he will though.

I don't care what people were saying in game day threads. Hell we have people in game day threads screaming for Fosters head even after running for 150+ yards and 3TDS.

All i know is i watch all the same games as you and personally i do not remember him getting benched often for bone headed plays. I do remember him getting beat a few times, like all CBs sometimes do. But that's about it.

You are vastly understating what a dominant secondary can do for an entire team. Especially one that has Watt rushing the passer.

Oh no trust me i know how valuable a dominant secondary can be. And i would be cool with this if we didn't have some other pretty big needs on the roster. Either way i know he will be a good player for us anyways.

I hate this ****ing pick with a passion.

We have more depth at CB than you can shake a cottonwood stick at and we have to pick the skinniest cottonwood stick.

This does not smack of a win now mentality, considering who was on the board on both sides of the ball.

I agree and he will always be playing with nagging injuries

Gotta stop Luck to win the division and J Jo in last year of contract. Makes sense.

Bingo! Colts did select WR and a fast one at that. They now have two legit WR and a speedster in Dorsett. Need all the help in secondary they can get.

I think this pick says a lot more of what the coaching staff thinks about Bouye, a 30 yr old JJO et al than anything else.

No matter what you and others thought or think, this was the BPA according to them

I don't get the circle jerk over the Colts. OL is still a mess. Can't complete passes sitting on his ass.

...Even though he has no injury history and played every game in college.

Who puked on your crystal ball?

gonna be people pissed every year even if we draft the second coming of Jim Brown, Jerry Rice, Dick Butkus and Deon Sanders rolled into one

We drafted this random dude named JJ Watt not too long ago, and I remember fans were ready to march down Kirby and burn that stadium to the f-----g ground.

So far, I still trust O'Brien, so, I'm ok with this pick.

My only concern is that the guy seems really skinny. Man, dude needs to eat a sandwich or something and gain 20 pounds. lol.

Dudes almost 190, that's a decent playing weight for a corner. It's only cause he's taller than the CBs we currently have. That said he can probably put on 2-4 pounds of muscle without it affecting his agility

Yeah I don't get it. Sherman is 195 but is 3 inches taller than Johnson. 190-195 is right where you want a corner.

I wouldn't go that far. I think the Texans want some more linebackers, yes, but I just think they felt they would be reaching for one at 16.

In fact, I think they were targeting one when they traded for the Patiots 32, but it fell through when the player was taken at 31. Forgot his name. Anyone?

We have good depth at CB, but I don't think Bouye, Morris, Rolle, or Hal are starter material. I like this pick because you don't want to be forced to start corners in their rookie season.

Stephon Anthony

LOL! Yeah, if that little niblet isn't seared into every Texans' fan's brain, it damn well should be.

I don't know that much about him. Do you think he would have been worth that trade up? I don't think I would have liked what it would have cost us.

Considered one of the few and best ILB's in this draft that can play all 3 downs

I'm not sure Anthony would have been the guy
