Seahawks move on!

NWTexan Fan

Practice Squad
Yes I'm a Texan fan...but not far behind that I'm also a Seahawk fan too. Hell, I live in Seattle for crissakes! (oh...sorry, moderator - I hope using H-E-double hockey sticks isn't in violation of anything)

Seattle continues despite not having Alexander...it's their year.

Seahawks without question the most overrated team in NFL this year !
They'd be 'bout .500 in any AFC Division.

Oh Cmon!!!! I would agree that we are in the worst division ever since the beginning of time but what would you say about a team that just keeps winning and winning? They have fallen short many times before but it's obvious the team is mature and ready to take it to the next level because they win no matter what happens!

Like todays game....no MVP? Hell, we'll win anyway!

Yeah, over rated....if I was an immature sports fan I would put a neg comment on your post! Ha...jk man! People do that to me and I just scratch my head.

What would it take to convince you Seattle isn't over rated? 13-3 record? Oh...that's been done. Winning a playoff game? Oh...that's been done. How about winning the conference championship? Still over rated? Super Bowl? Over rated?

Whats a AFC division? Anyways the seahawks defense is underated along with Hasselbeck. I don't know who will win, either the Broncos, Colts, or the Seahawks.

You have a 75% chance of being right, lol.

Yeah you....if the Seahawks keep on putting a hurt on Carolina and go to the Superbowl are they still a .500 team? Would LOVE to know your opinion!

I stated a week ago in this same thread that Hasselbeck and the Seattle defense were underated and so far I'm right. The Seahawks play in a crappy division, but that doesn't mean are a bad team. They have a great lb core.

Good for Seattle. It would be the first for that franchise. More than I can say for Houston Oilers/Texans. Hopefully the Texans can get there before any of the other teams that have never been and soon.

WTH? What is with bashing Washington State? It is my home, I live in TX but WA is my home.:)

Congrats on the win, NWTexan fan! I am hoping for a first SB win in franchise history for y'all. This should make my dad happy, he has been a 'Hawk fan for 30 years. :)

If they can handle the Steeler blitz packages they can win this game. It all comes down to blitz recognition and pick-up for the Seattle O-line. Handle the blitz = win. WOOOOT!

I think that it is pretty funny that Seattle is the "Home of the 12th Man" and that they have a "Ring of Honor". It seems to me that they so want to live in the state of Texas. Come on get some original tradition.

It's just marketing. And working.

Every TV commentator makes note of the noise in that stadium and I believe they lead the league in false starts by other teams.

Give them credit. They are totally supportive...loudly supportive...of their team.

Congratulations Chawky...well done.

Thanks WWJD, it is a wierd feeling after growing accoustomed to losing for my 25 years of having been a fan. I think I am more in shock than anything else, especially at how they annihilated Carolina, they just flat out whipped them.

Yea you know Carolina is a weird team...they have the ability to beat anybody but on offense they seem to be kind of one dimensional at times (even though that one diminision is a MVP type player).

The Seahawks play very tough defense and they don't ever seem to get really behind by much and if they are they do not panic. They play smart. They're well coached. Great home field advantage.

I do expect though that the SB will be mainly Steeler fans because they have a Nebraska-like following...fans that will travel and do.....

Anyway you've been loyal to the Seahawks and a friend on this board. I hope you enjoy the ride!

Carolina had practically NO running game, and the Seahawks knew that going into the game. It gave them more weapons to cover and shut down Steve Smith. Seattle owes that win to the defense, and superb coaching. JMO!

BTW: Good luck to the Hawks on Feb 5th. I hope they win the big show!!

Thanks again :yahoo: :coolb:

Ok I feel better now. Had to get that out, oh and this too :trophy:

Lol, anyway....you hit it exactly on the head about the panic aspect. That is where they used to falter in the past, get flustered and make boneheaded plays. I was thinking about going to the SB since I could make it a reasonable drive, however I don't want to pay more than $1k per ticket and I do not see that happening. Guess I will enjoy it from my couch like most others.

Many thanks! I kind of wish we were playing someone with an easier to hate team/fans like the Raiders, Eagles, or Patriots. I live about an hour from Philly so I get bombarded with McNabb nonsense seemingly endlessly. I tend to work a lot in Steelers country and they have good blue collar type fans, die hard loyal, but tend to not be jerks.

As for the game analysis, Seattle is kind of a lighter faster front four on D which makes them a bit soft in the run game sometimes so I was still worried. Luckily they have been using a 4/5 man DT rotation to keep everyone fresh. Literally all their D-line backups who are dressed play.

To be honest I think Detroit is kind of an off place to host a SB. They could very well have very bad weather and folks wouldn't be able to enjoy the city that much if that happened...

I'm guessing it was one of those "you build a new stadium and we'll give you a SB" type deals the NFL is infamous for.

Oh yea Chawky...question.

John McClain says Alexander is one of the most disliked players he's ever heard of. He says his own teammates don't even like him. You ever heard that?

This has been kicked around for a long time on Seahawk message boards. I have never read that an actual player came out and said that they didn't like him. I know a lot of fans, such as myself, see him as a me me me type player. Not to the level of a TO or a Keyshawn, but he is very focused on himself. My personal opinion is that he will be gone next year, and not really missed. I believe he is probably the last "me" guy left on the roster.

If you watch the little things he does, like laying on his back after a run and makes a lineman come over and help him up. The whole stabbed in the back comment from last years rushing title. How "soft" he plays, won't take a hit for the extra yard (admittedly he has been better this year, contract year of course), unable or unwilling to block / pick up the blitz (though a little better this year), and the list goes on.

Wow..how odd that would be for a SB team and conference champ to let the MVP go elsewhere.

That would speak volumes about what the team and coaches think of him.

I do remember the incident about last years rushing title and his comments. I kind of chalked them down to him being disappointed and didn't think much of it really.

Tell that to the Carolina Panthers! ;)

Congrats, Seahawks! :thumbup Nice to see a team that's never been finally get their time in the spotlight. I hope H-town can eventually feel the euphoria someday.

No kidding! They have an awesome stadium up there and they make it rock!

Would be nice to hear the same said about Reliant, so lets try to rock OUR house in '06 people! :redtowel:

Seahawks | Team struggled in only game against 3-4 defense
Mon, 23 Jan 2006 21:12:40 -0800

Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the Seattle Seahawks faced only one team that ran the 3-4 defense during the 2005 season. Against the Dallas Cowboys, the team managed only three points for the first 59 minutes, but was able to put up ten points in the final 40 seconds to steal a win.

Umm, obviously Adam Schefter didn't notice the 3-4 defense that Seattle tore up on a Sunday night football game. Hmmm....I forgot who they played.....

I had to correct them on their board too. They had the Steelers and Dallas listed, but no mention of us. They did beat us like red headed stepchildren, but we still had a 3-4. :)

I have always believed in the Hawks, but after the way the Seattle fans (some not all) treated us at Qwest(flipping us off, throwing peanuts), I am rooting for the Steelers!
