Scoutsnotebook.com Mock 04/21/06

Can one of the mods switch the sticky with this again? Thanks.

By the way, if you guys think you're tired of mocks, you can't imagine how tired I am.:brickwall No more!!! No more!!!

Our final mock will be out late next week. I'll post it as usual.

We decided to switch the flavor up with the Texans by the way. Having some fun.

Texan's Picks

1. Mario Williams, DE NC State
33. D'Qwell Jackson, MLB Maryland
65. Jonathan Scott, OT Texas
66. DeMario Minter, CB Georgia

See ya guys.

matt- just make sure your final one has the Texans selecting VY :ok:

pick #15 Denver. will be Chad Jackson :) I too am a big fan of Holmes but he lacks the size of a true #1 WR. if the Broncos take Holmes, Chad will not slip all the way down to da bears.

pick #18 Cowboys. like FS Donte Whitner this would be a great fit & tie together the secondary into a shutdown group.

pick #19 Chargers. I'd rather take Antonio Cromartie he has superior size, athelticism and upside.

overall a B+ :)

Not sure on the Jackson to Denver issue. If you remember, we've had them go Jackson regularly until this draft. After talking to Rick Gosselin through email and listening to a few other personnel guys, I'm not sure Jackson will go that high. I've heard from numberous sources he's not a 1st rounder. I believe he is, but what I believe doesn't matter when it comes to projecting what NFL teams will do.

Donte Whitner is a SS, not a FS. He could play FS, but his skillset lends itself a bit more towards the strong side. For a team like Dallas who has Roy Williams, they may look more towards a true centerfielder. Whitner is a definite option though.

Cromartie has started 1 game since High School. Not sure I'd spend a Top 20 pick on a kid like that.

My thoughts initially...i cant see Kiwi as a top 20 pick anymore, I think If KO is at houstons second round pick they take him, and I dont think sinorice moss falls that far. But hey, its a heck of a mock, who am i to criticize....I certainly couldnt do any better

don't know much about FSU's defense apparently. they like to rotate their top 3 corners in and out all the time. cromartie actually saw more playing time than jonathan joseph, among several other top DB prospects. if you're just going to go by starts, you're not going to know much. watch some tape.

Thank you for stating your opinion as fact. Always a great way to start a convo.

It always amuses me how people do this. We all have about the same clue as to what is going on e.g about none and yet we all spout off as if we are the ones making the calls.

Pretty obvious from two posts you're just a jerk, but I'll humor you.

I said he started 1 game. - Fact

He only started 1 game. - Fact

No where in my post did I mention him not playing otherwise.- Fact

Watch some tape, huh? Wow.

Have a nice day, although, I'm sure you won't with the chip on that shoulder.

yes, saying cromartie has only started one game and using it as a negative doesn't make much sense considering he played just as much against the opposition's best receivers as any other top DB in this draft (injury time excluded). i'd be more concerned with the injury than anything.

I know. Your opinion is fact. Mine is wrong. I apologize for my blasphemy.

Again, have a nice day. Not going to continue this convo.

houston is taking bush, oakland won't take a QB, jimmy williams is falling, and so on.

And now that we have it OFFICIALLY from Raider nation that they don't want a QB (with the dolphin icon.) Give me a break.

I like the top 10. I dont think jackson will go past broncos as stated and i certainly dont see him past miami but if that does KC needs a YOUNG wr baaad.

Other than us passing on eric winston I like it. Even if we are going to take j. scott in the third i'd still like to pick up winston.

yeah jonathan scott is a pretty bad pick for houston. he doesn't have the athleticism of guys like winston or guy whimper, and he's pretty stiff mechanics overall. definitely more of a pass blocker, and the speed rush will kill him.

i agree with matt about chad jackson though. he's getting very overrated. he's not nearly as versatile as santonio holmes and his routes are pretty sloppy.
