Scoutsnotebook.com Mock 04/14/06

Saw that one of the moderators pinned our old mock. Thank you very much.

If you'd just like to let it drop and do the same with this that would be great.

Anyway, new mock up at the site.

http://www.scoutsnotebook.com/modules.php?name=mock_draft

List of Texan's picks

1. Reggie Bush, RB Southern Cal
33. Eric Winston, OT Miami
65. Abdul Hodge, MLB Iowa
66. Alan Zemaitis, CB Penn State

Stop on by if you get a chance.:)

If the Texans do take Bush #1 overall I would prefeer they get their CB with the 2nd rd. pick Richard Marshall then in the 3rd OT Andrew Whitworth. Also really like FS Pat Watkins with the #66.. :)

33. Richard Marshall, CB Fresno State
65. Andrew Whitworth, OT LSU
66. Pat Watkins, FS FSU

miami getting wimbley makes me wet, but i don't cleveland letting him slip by. although i guess if ngata IS there....

and thumbs up to watkins in the 3rd.

Richard Marshall might have nightmares about Reggie during practice. He will have bad memories about "the game"

imo greenway is a much better prospect than sims

In some ways he is. In others he's not.

Greenway is better in coverage, however I think he's got elite coverage ability. Not just being able to "cover" mind you, but understanding proper technique. I've seen him on RBs, TEs and WRs. Very impressive. Fluid hips. Good speed. Great range. Tackles in the open field extremely well. Could work on getting more physical though. Can blitz, but they didn't use him to do so very often.

Ernie Sims is the playmaker of the two without question. I would have loved to see him play WLB at FSU so he had more freedom to make plays. Think they limited him at SLB. The kid is extremely tough and plays nasty. Greg Lloyd was another smallish LB who was just mean on the field. We think Ernie plays like Greg did.

One thing to keep in mind....

Would Chad Greenway fit a Tampa 2 at WLB better then Ernie Sims?

I don't see it that way at all. Sims is an absolute perfect fit for the T2. I think Rod Marinelli would love to have a kid like this and be able to groom a Derrick Brooks type of playmaker for the Lions.

We have Ernie higher then most. I understand that. Again, write what you see.

What I see in Ernie is a kid with awesome athleticism that fits Detroit like a glove.

I think it's extremely unlikely Ernie lasts past 13. Extremely unlikely.

From what I've seen this year, I'd much rather our scenario for the Texans, but whatever you like my man.:)

Haven't seen you at the site lately. Where the hell ya been!:spy:

Not sure Wimbley goes to the Browns, but I agree that I don't see him making it out of the 1st round with so many teams running a 3-4 defense picking in the middle of the 1st (I don't see him slipping past Cleveland, Dallas, San Diego, New England, etc.). I don't like Watkins with our 3rd round picks, maybe in the 4th. He had pretty nice measurables but from what I've seen of him I don't think he'll be ready to start for a year or two.

Although I like both mocks, Matt's and Beerlovers, I prefer Matt's. I love Winston, and Hodge and Zemaitis in the 3rd present outstanding value. I have Alan Z coming to us in my own mock.

See here for my own "best case" mock draft.

I really like your picks I just question if some of those are going to drop to us. My understanding is CB is a hot position this year, and many could go in the first round. Also I thought hodge was a 2nd round pick myself. That being said I would love to have the card falls in such a way that we get Bush, a top LT, and some defensive help on the first day.

The more I think of it the more I like the idea of DD and Bush in the same backfield, but not without the line being fixed too.

Do you do a full 7 round mock eventually? Because this looks really good and I'm curious about how the late rounds will pan out.
