I almost want to stay up & watch it.

Pretty sad that I'm going to be home & in bed at 11pm on a Friday night eh?

The Schaub / Carr show is fairly sad. TB looked better than both and he fumbled!

It was certainly a sloppy game. But I don't believe that this was what Schaub was thinking when he was referring to looking forward to a "new start" in Oakland. He was 3-7 for 21 yds, didn't generate a single 1st down despite playing into the 2nd quarter. If you watch his performance, he included some his most familiar highlights.........throwing behind players, folding on 3rd downs, almost but not quite (this time) throwing interceptions, and taking advantage of being able to practice gracefully falling into the fetal position.

Carr didn't look great, but.......

You have to take stats with a grain of salt in the preseason. In fact, you should throw them out the window, but Carr 10-16 passing with 74 yards. He did throw an interception but it was off a deflection off his intended receivers hands.

Sure, he was working against the backups, but Carr showed a much more lively and bigger arm than Schaub and he made good decisions that you wouldn’t typically come to expect from a rookie.

Carr will get his chance to earn the starting job through the remainder of the preseason and if nothing else, the presence of Schaub will keep him honest as nothing will be handed to him and he will have a player pushing him every step of the way.

The future of the Raiders clearly rests on the right arm of Carr, so why not hand the keys to the offense to him as a rookie and see what the rookie can do?

From PFT:

Not until third-string quarterback Matt McGloin came in did the Raiders start to move the ball. On his first series McGloin drove the Raiders into field goal range (although the kick was blocked), and McGloin later ran for a 10-yard touchdown to give the Raiders their only points of their 10-6 loss. (Oakland failed on a two-point conversion attempt after McGloin’s touchdown.)

Their offensive coordinator is Greg Olsen....
I'm sorry, what is his claim to fame?

Making iffy QB's remove all doubt?
Oddly enough the one QB that looked good played for BO'B at Penn St. Hmmmmm...

I said earlier when the raiders drafted Carr he'd have a good chance to start. If he's close or outperforming him I'd go with the rook.

speaking of ex-Houston QBs, T.J. Yates isn't looking half bad against the 'Phins

his numbers don't look very good but he's putting the ball where it ought to be and his young receivers have been zigging when they should have been zagging at times

You have a wife and kids. Not sad at all. I'd say that's boss status.

I didn't make it past 10 o'clock, I was out cold.

I did see the "highlights" this morning. It's just the preseason, first game at that. But didn't look good for Matt.
