San Antonio Texans Fans : Time to Unite.

With just over a month and a half until training camp and another Texans football season, we have precious little time to try and get the Houston Texans to reach out to the fans here in San Antonio. As most of you Texans fans in San Antonio know, there is little to no Texans advertising/outreach being done in the largest market in the state without a football team. There are no Texans' ads on the Radio, TV, Newspaper encouraging ticket sales or promotional events for the team.(not much better in Austin I hear)

The easy excuse is to say that that SA is south Dallas and just bend over for Jerry's team. I on the other hand will not give up to a team that hurts my city. I live here and I have met and seen tons of Texans fans here in SA It may be true that there are alot of Cowboy fans here (trust me we know) However, there are Texans fans here as well. I have proof and pictures of a crowded BWW full of Texans fans when they were taken off of TV.
San Antonio is the #1 destination city for Houstonian transplants in the state of Texas. Alot of Houstonians have family here and their families love the Texans. Also, San Antonio is military city Texas and there are thousands of residents who cant stand the Cowboys , but dont have the outlet to root against them or another local team to root for. The Astros have a strong fanbase here and I believe it is because they have a good marketing team willing to reach out into this market. We need to enourage the Texans to do the same. I believe that now is the time to start laying the groundwork for the Texans fanbase to exapnd here in SA.

There is already a good fanbase here, they are just not well connected. We just need to find ways to connect them, not only to other fans but to the organization to let them know we are here and we love our Texans.

I need all Texans fans to come together and figure out how we can get the organization to reach out to the fans here in SA. We need to voice our concern that SA Texans fans often are ignored by the organization.

Sounds like a plan. I've always noticed that some places have one paticular gathering place year round for their teams. Sort of like "The official spot for Houston Texan fans in San Antonio". Some bars even discount repeat customers. Might I suggest the new Bikinis sports bar


I'm not sure how convienent it would be to have one centralized location, but even mom and pop bars are more than willing to accomidate a lare number of fans who are guaranteed to bring in some dinero.

Not sure if this is a "reaching out" type deal but it's a suggestion on how to unite the Texan faithful.

I need to see a "good faith" effort from the Texans fans of SA. What I would like to see is Texans Fans of SA egg that Nick Tyler at one of their stations outings. He's the guy that ambushed the Texans traveling group and the Texans Cheerleaders. Give Nick a little payback!!

Mike Taylor is all talk...I am glad he doesnt like the Texans...teams he likes are jinxed..he comes from Dallas and starts to root for Spurs and they loose two years in a row and this year he shifts his allegiance to the stros and well....



Anyways, we should all meet before the season and try to plan watch parties and trips. Texizgreat and V-man and Wayne and occasionally Solis meet at the BWW. This year I think we should all get together and get organized...maybe then they will pay attention to the fans in SA.

I am in on a gathering of Texans fans here in SA. I have actually emailed HT.com and asked them why they have no marketing presence here in SA. I asked if they knew they no longer had a radio or pre season TV affiliate here. The response I got from HT.com was they were "working" on getting radio and tv affiliates..that was before the 07 season and still nothing.

Maybe we should get the phone number to that guy's radio show and give him a call. He needs some more embarrassment. I couldn't believe some of the stuff he was saying last season.
