One of the problems I'm sensing is McKinney. The reason is that they are talking about him calling the line coverage even though he will be possibly playing LG. It seems no other lineman is capable of doing that. That seems strange to me and that's why he continues to play when many of us think we might be better off with him out of the lineup. It appears they do not have a backup for that job. Pitts is a smart guy and I wonder if he could do it.

I would sign Ross Verba and give Washington a shot at center, who is on the active roster already and plays center. If this rookie is better than washington, then he should be active and washington should not. 4 bad tires on your car and a bad spare. Putting the spare tire on and rotating the others does not mean you have better tires, you still have 4 bad tires in different places.

I'd like to see Washington get a shot at center as well but the reason he's on the roster is he can back up at both center and guard. Hodgdon is a center only from my understanding. Our team seems to value versatility over players that are dominant at what they do.

It's not, it's a great move to put the best players on the field. I'm just waiting for out coaching staff to try it, because this shuffled line isn't it, nor are the primary receivers we've been seeing.

I can respect that, but Mckinney isn't getting the job done and if this kid can play then by all means play him. My point to the other confrontational post was that if this kid is a better olineman than the ones we have on the field, then he should be on the roster, unless he needed "time to learn the offense, or blocking schemes" or something.

The fact that this team is changing 4 of the 5 lineman position after the eighth game (4 preseason games) speaks volumes about how clueless this coaching staff has been. Everyone in the NFL has said been saying that the line is the problem and everyone in the organization took the attitude that it will fix itself. It hasn't, in four years. Capers also stated that he finally had the people he needed to run the defense he wanted and we are the worst in the NFL. I'm sorry but the sky has fallen and I have lost all faith.

I agree with you, but let me give you a piece of advice. Notice that I'm listed as a rookie just like you, but I've been around long enough to know that if you keep speaking the truth about this team in stead of looking through the rosy colored glasses that many of the posters in the forum do, you will become a target of ridicule. I consider myself a realist and you seem to be one as well. I just wanted to let you know what lies ahead.

BS--you can give your opinion and some people will agree and others will not. That is the point of a discussion. Don't try to label yourself as some kind of martyr because everyone doesn't agree with you.

For example, the reason the OL is being shaken up isn't run blocking which they do just fine, it is pass blocking. Washington is above average in run blocking, but almost makes Riley look above average in pass blocking. That is why Hodgeden is getting the start at C.
