Every year Vet players are victims of the salary cap. Who do you think will be cut this off season?

Pittsburgh is in salary cap hell right now, I believe OLB James Harrison at 2013: $6.57 million, 2014: $7.575 million will be one of many vets cut.

At te right price, yes. Would be a decent stop gap who could possibly still develop into a franchise QB. It would make our draft a whole lot easier to go BPA and shop picks and give us some time to fix oline and D.

Not more than Josh McCown. I would rather take my chances with a rookie than mess with Bradford. I watched plenty of his game and never came away impressed.

Maybe there's a separate list somewhere called "Performance and/or Injury Casualties" and they think he fits better on that list.

The guy showed flashes but after four seasons you'd think he'd be a consistent performer but he hasn't been. The health issues are a concern too.

I know we've been burned recently with an aging safety but I'd like to see what polomalu could do for our secondary.

I would take Bradford over any QB in this draft.

Not that I think Bradford will ever be anything more than Flacco/Ryan at his best. This is another example of a team reaching for a QB at 1-1 because of need.

I've really switched philosophy in going after free agents. If you miss with draft it doesn't cost so much or as long.

New CBA has and will continue to greatly reduce free agency except for aged or borderline quality vets who will probably be overpaid.

Speaking of safeties, anybody know how Crennel plays his safeties ? Wade of course wanted 2 interchangeable guys, but wonder if Crennel is more about the traditional box safety at the los and the other safety being more of a centerfielder type ? DJ would seem to fit very well as a box type,
up on the los where his tackling skills and aggressiveness vs rushing plays could be maximized ?
