Me and my girlfriend will be going to N.O. for the away game.

Any advise on hotels? Or which hotels will most of yall be staying at?

I know its a long way but we wanna book it within the next month or so, with or with out football..

I have no idea where we stayed last time, but it was within walking distance of both the Dome and short taxi ride to the Quarter. I don't quite remember how we all got back home...

We were polluted so I can't really say other than it was extremely convenient for both.
 
im planning on going to the RS saints game but would love to go two the pre season game has well
 
Just booked our hotel! I will be staying at Dauphine Orleans Hotel from Thursday the 22nd of September till Monday the 25th, its gonna be a mini vacation for me and my girl.

Now to find tickets for the game:evil:

Is that close to the Superdome?

New Orleans is one thing I haven't done yet. It seems smarter to be close to the game and hitch a ride to the french quarter or wherever you wanna go.

Last time the Texans played in New Orleans, we had a hotel in the French Quarter and then drove to the game, parked and then headed back home to Texas after the game. The drive to the Superdome from the Quarter is very short.

We visit New Orleans frequently and I would recommend one of the hotels on Canal St. which borders the French Quarter. Its much easier driving up to a hotel on Canal St. rather than trying to drive through the Quarter to get to a hotel. It is a real hassle trying to drive a car along the streets in the Quarter.

I was thinking about flying in instead. Would that change your answer?
 
I'm still thinking about a round 2, I had a good time last time.

If I do I'm staying at the renaissance pere marquette hotel by marriot again, its close to the French quarter and walking distance to the dome.

Yes it would. Let the taxi driver worry about driving in the Quarter.

I would stay in a hotel in the Quarter rather than one near the Dome. To me, its more important to be within walking distance of the Quarter rather than walking distance to the Dome.

I'm going again this year. We had soooo much fun last year.

Going online to book something now. Probably stay at the same place as last year or the W since that is where the Texans Road Trip folks will be.

Anyone doing the travel package?

I tried booking there in May for the Sept game and they were all booked up, so they said. I want to stay at a Marriott (rewards points) but, might change. The Marriott at the Convention center is not that close to the Superdome, so I've been told. About a 20-30 min walk, so I suppose about a mile or so.

It's more fun to stay with a group, so if you all get one together let me know.

Goodness, these tickets are pricey.... sigh!! $170 for one ticket.

I got my eye on one in section 102 similar to where we were last year. Maybe the ticket prices will change some once the season starts.

Grandma, I am hoping that the prices drop, but this one is for a 2nd row seat. There are more reasonable tickets prices over at stub hub.
 
I've got a group of 4 of us also looking for tickets. Anyone know of any places, other than the aftermarket sites? Will they go on sale through ticketmaster for single games?

Just keep looking on ticketmaster every morning to see if they will go on sale.. As of now all it says is "currently not on sale".

Im keeping my eye out and will post if I see anything.
 
We r going to drive! Do any of y'all have tickets yet! Looks like most affordable are in the upper level! Anyone know any different? Where r your seats?
 
This will be our first roadtrip game. We will be up at the top, but we will be there. We will more than likely walk to the stadium. Any tailgates for us to crash?
