Round 6 Comments

11. Ceandris "C.C." Brown, Louisiana-Lafayette (6-0¼, 206)
Was not invited to the combine. At his Pro Day, Brown ran the 40 in 4.47 with the wind and 4.46 against it. He also ran the short shuttle in 4.31, the three-cone drill in 7.04 and the long shuttle in 11.68. He had a 35-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-8 long jump. A junior college transfer who has started the past two years. He definitely has the size and speed.

6'2" 205 is a real nice size for a safety... if the kid's got any sort of game, he's gonna be a nice fit in our secondary at some point. Punt gunner possibly at that size.

NFL.com listed him at FS.

Here's some info on him.

Is Ceandris Brown same as C.C. Brown? This is what it says about him
Brown (6-0¼, 208) ran his 40s in 4.47 and 4.56. He also ran the short shuttle in 4.31 seconds, the three-cone drill in 7.04 and the long shuttle in 11.68. He had a 35-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-8 broad jump.

i wanted the texans to take browner in the 2nd round already, but hopefully we take in 6 or 7, coleman can show him the ropes, if we pick him

I'll give you the ranks from the publications I have. (No commentary, I promise)

PFW- 37th-ranked strong safety - grade of 4.40. There's about 30 still left ahead of him. There's no write-up on him.

He is not listed on the Scouts Inc. Top 348. His Scouts grade is 30.

Can someone confirm that CC is really running the show? Or, has our war room been taken over by a bunch of Jacksonville fans?

It's looking like all of our picks (except for Mathis) are totally out of left field. I guess we'll just have to wait & see.

Hey I'll take a shot on a kid that's 6'2" 205 and is considered a "sleeper" in round 6. Why not? It's a need at some point, and though we probably could have used a lineman or maybe a corner, this isn't a bad pick.

Glen Earl was completely out of left field too... If even one of these guys pans out, Capers and Casserly look like geniuses.

Glen Earl was rated as high as a 2nd rounder until he got injured. Not the same.

Also, ESPN has him listed as 6'0" 200 lbs 4.65

He is a 6th round pick. I am not even sure where you find the numbers, but many 6th round players don't make the team or they end up on the practice squad.

C'mon guys . . . wake up.

This is a special teams prospect . . . nothing else.

He's got good speed (4.4) and size, but his short shuttle time reveals below average quickness. They are looking for special teams players . . nothing else.

Size, plus numbers look really good tome. Atleast for a 6th rounder. Willing to bet Hoke loves the kid ans will coach him to be Coleman's replacement at free safety.

Did Shazor kill somebody? Biggest draft fall since the DT from Auburna couple of years ago.

Shazor ran a slow 40, if hes there for our 7th, i don't care if we took CC Brown in 6th, we need to take Shazor. Alot of Drafts had him in late first day to early second day. I think its worth a 7th round pick on someone who is under-rated and dropped due to a slow 40.
Unless WIlkerson is available in 7th, then we gotta take him.

For the lazy:

--------------|--------Tackles----------Sacks--Pass Def---| |-Fumbles-|
---------------GP Solo...Ast.Total.TFL/Yds..No-Yds..Int-Yds BrUp QBH Rcv-
17 Brown, C.C. 12...36....31...67.....7.5-15....1--5......2-7.......4.....1-0

Plus 2 Forced fumbles

Weren't we supposed to get Kansas City's 7th round for the punter Cheek or was that a conditional pick and they did not get one, so we did not get one?

Cheek didn't stay on the Chiefs roster long enough to meet the pick conditions.

Did ESPN mess up or did Minnesota and Tennessee just draft the same person?

Tennessee just drafted CB Reynaldo Hill and Minnesota followed up by drafting him again
:hmmm:

And now Chicago has made its pick and Minnesota's slot is empty...Man..if this isn't just an error then Tice really looks like an *****.

Adrian Ward from UTEP is Minnesotas actual pick, they just entered it wrong.

Yea, I saw it entered in just now. Mostly I was hoping the Vikings screwed up so there would be something to talk about in the 7th round.

This kid runs faster against the wind than he does with it at his back?

Guys, I did not read all the post in this thread but I can tell you that I watched this kid (C.C. Brown) the past two seasons and he is a true football player. By that I mean forget all the 40 time, shuttle run, bench press B.S., this guy makes things happen no matter where he is playing (special teams or defense). He made tremendous progress during his 2 years as a Ragin' Cajun and will be a good player for us. Will he beat out Earl? probably not this year but possibly next. The Cajuns have put other DB's in the league like the Bears Charles Tillman and the Steelers Ike Taylor. Other former Cajuns include Jake Delhomme (Panthers), Brandon Stokley (Colts) and Anthony Clement (Arizona). If you cannot tell, in addition to being a Texan fan, I am a UL grad myself :thumbup
