Round 2 Commentary thread

Take a nap and crazyness ensues. So we're up in 8 picks and we have secured a DE and LB, right? Guess that just leaves DB and OL. Who are the big names left?

At this point I"m not sure we need to move up. It appears a lot of good quality will fall to us at 65 and 66. We are 9 picks away.

just looking down through the teams and i think TB and denver are the only threats left to take winston before andd denver might look to replace Lynch with ko or somebody...........

maybe we shouldnt trade up

At what point do we consider moving up with the talent still on the board???

I don't think we do unless it's to get over the Jags to 1) steal a corner and 2) piss 'em off.

I'm happy now, but I'd be even happier if we ended up with:
1) Winston
2) D-back help, whether it's FS or CB.

Ko and Youboti are definitely tempting over Winston but I doubt that all three will be there.

And who knows what the FO has in mind?

Sarg's Best Available (for the Texans):

1. CB Ashton Youboty...2. OT Eric Winston...3. TE Leonard Pope...4. MLB Abdul Hodge (probably won't take)...5. FS Ko Simpson...6. CB Richard Marshall...7. SS Darnell Bing...8. OT Jonathon Scott...9. WR Martin Nance...10. OT Jeremy Trueblood.

You know for once it's kinda nice to NOT be moving around so much.

We don't have the best history with trade ups.

Ko pulled a ten on his Wunderlic. :brickwall

Whitworth is a bit puzzling, how old is Willie Anderson (he is the RT is he not?)
he's old and they drafted stacey andrews 2 years ago to be his replacement.... puzzling

I would add Brian Calhoun to that list too. Although we have Davis, we still are a little light in the RB department.

im no too high on youboty but at 65 he would be a decent value pick.
if i remember my draft research right anthony smith from syracuse is a 'high character' guy- hes a safety and may be 1 of our picks, as they're the type of players we're taking

I have to believe that they will go OL with one of the picks because they can't keep telling Carr, sorry...

I believe they went OL when they hired Sherman but you're right. I'd like to see some more new blood out there.

It can't be worse than last year*

*I know it can be worse than last year, I just don't want it to be.

We aren't the only ones not picking Winston - what's up with that? Is everybody wrong or was he not worth #33?

Well, he's not worth #33 if he's there at #65. Nevertheless, he'll be an upgrade to one of our current starters, and it's tough to argue with that in the 3rd. The injury's the only thing I can think of, but he looked OK in the postseason games.
