Round 1 Commentary Thread

with this pick bob mcnair has single handedly replaced bud adams as the worst owner in houston history. How you can be so dumb to pick "super mario who" to be your first pick is beyond me. Well houston fans, we should not be upset we're keeping with tradition. Bone head play, after play, after pick.
Super Mario may be good, but he will never ever do on defense what "REGGIE" could have done on offense, bar none. The Texans will not be getting any of my money, screw em. I'm not wasting my sunday afternoon on this team. This could get very very ugly this year. We saw no shows last year but there may not be any show ups this year. And why o why do you allow a guy like casserly who's is going to be gone, to have any input in this selection is beyond me again. Stay tuned we'll see what happens, so far today it is a big YAWN, no excitement at all. Remember "CHOKE" city.

You should be rooting for Mario regardless since he's now a Texan...It shouldn't depend on what happened with Reggie or Vince...

In other words, mindlessly swallow the kook aide and then lay down for a nap.

Geez, talk about cognitive dissonance.

How far will Leinart drop? Paging Aaron Rodgers.

If Leinart doesn't go at 4, he'll either go to the Raiders, Cardinals, or Ravens...

Yeah sure, why not...

Excuse me for wanting our players to be better than players on other teams...

and i thought i was actually excited to wake up after bragging last night about VINCE FOR HOUSTON ... we are going to win 2 mabey 3 games next year

because you were honest and believed in your eyes instead of listening to the haters and just adopting their point of view. Big props to everyone who didn't get weak in the mind...and trust their football eyes.

I am too. I really didn't think I would be, so I'm surprised that I am

He definitely may be the last one of the attendees to go.

Jet fans look suprisingly happy.

Leinart has realized that his fate lies in the silver and black.

I think someone will try and trade up for Matt.

What a difference a year made for him. He would have been #1 overall last year, now...he may not even go in the top 10.

suprised me that the Jets weren't booing for once .. good pick on their part.

I don't know which is worse Eli's face last year or Matt's right now

I think we should have traded down if we were not going to get Bush and drafted D'Brickashaw. He would have been a better fit than MW. He would have at least helped Carr.

Who would've traded with us?

Oh, that's right, nobody...

If no trades then i think Leinart is gone at 7 to raiders and Cutler gone to Arizona at 10. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Rams( 11th pick) try and trade up to get one of the 2 before Arizona picks.

Look, we had issues on both sides of the ball last year. My one-legged grandmother could have avoided our pass rush last year even if the Cardinal's O-line were protecting her. We needed to get to other team's QB as well as keep Carr alive I am happy with the pick and all you so called fans can get to stepping

I am now officially a Titans fan.

You still here? Your friends over at the Titans board are awaiting you and your undying loyalty.

If the Texans were really impressed by M.Williams at the combine and fell in love with his workout numbers then it was a complete mistake to pick him. He didn't even have best workout at the combine! Vernon Davis had one of the greatest workouts at the combine ever. As did Michael Huff. The Texans have always gone with workout numbers instead of looking at the player as a football player primarily. And Casserly said that Mario can play any position in the d-line and it wouldn't be a problem for him to fit in. If that's the reasoning behind picking him then why did the Texans not pick Derrick Johnson from a year ago??? Surely a great linebacker like him can play any of the linebacker positions right? Instead we went with Travis Johnson who was "rated" higher than D.J.

All I know is that M.Williams from day 1 has to play like Julius Pepper, Reggie White because if he doesn't it'll make 2-14 look like a fond memory. That may seem like an unreasonable demand from a rooke DE who will more than likely struggle, but if the Texans can make unreasonable decisions than surely they cannot expect a simple fan to expect much less. And if defense was such a big issue (as it really is) then we should've selected Michael Huff not M.Williams! We're thin at the secondary and he's one of the sure things in this draft.

Gary Kubiak and Bob McNair. Both of you guys are religious God fearing man. If I were you I would build a little church next to the practice fields so that you guys can pray everyday that M.Williams is everything and more you guys are expecting him to be. Because if he isn't may God have mercy on your souls cuz the fans won't.

I'm a bit upset as y'all can see, but I needed to get that out of my system.

At last the Niners have somebody to throw to. I wonder what they will do with the #22 pick, though. That's the mystery pick to me.

Well, I have been a Texans fan since Houston was granted the franchise. I am going to remain a Texan's fan no matter what. I will support Mario Williams because we don't need Bush and I have a feeling that Bush is going to pull a Ki-jana Carter.

just had to say you are a true Texans Fan!!!:redtowel:

Lienhart's game doesn't match up well with Oaklands game. It's about the deep ball and that isn't what he does best.
