PITTSBURGH (AP) - Some of his Pittsburgh Steelers teammates probably wish they could win some of Ben Roethlisberger's money.

Roethlisberger, who has an unprecedented 13-0 record as a rookie starting quarterback, likely will pocket more than $2 million in first-year bonuses on top of his $9 million signing bonus and $230,000 base salary.
By next March, Roethlisberger's total first-year windfall could exceed $12 million - easily the most money any Steelers player has collected in one year.

There could be more, too - if the AFC top-seeded Steelers (15-1) win the Super Bowl, he'll collect another $500,000. He will settle for $250,000 if the Steelers reach the Super Bowl and lose.

"I don't want to start thinking about it (his rookie year) until it is all over, whenever that might be and, hopefully, it is after the Super Bowl," Roethlisberger said.

Most of Roethlisberger's signing bonus will be paid as a $7,237,000 roster bonus in March that is prorated for salary cap purposes over his six-year contract, so his deal counts only $1.5 million against the Steelers' cap this season.

Yankee- you said what I was about to say. His team has definitely helped him out and done a lot of the work, but the kid is good though and has done better than anyone in history their rookie season.

You gotta love it! Coming into draft day! All the hype about Eli Manning! They hardly evet mention Roethlisberger, but what happens it takes Eli all the way till the last game of the season to get a win, and Roethlisberger has already racked up 13! The guy no one talks about has the best year! Karma's great isn't it?
