Rodrique Wright

IMHO next year we have to go DL with Rodrique Wright (assuming we dont trade 2 1st rounders to St. Louis), he was born to play nose tackle. Where do think he will go next year??

Wright or Hlatoi Ngata are both elite Dlineman prospects that would totally own in a 3-4. we also have Ahmad Brooks next year.. an ILB on the same level as Derrick Johnson this year.

We neeeeeeeeeeed another 1st rounder for next year hehe.. we need to trade up and grab one of these three guys.

no way Grid that Brooks is on par with Johnson, can't let that one slip on by

he is :).. when he was rumored to come into this draft class people were having a tough time saying which was a better LB prospect. Johnson was ranked higher.. but only by a few spots.

Ahmad Brooks must have had a off game then when I watched him play :hmmm:

his speed seemed suspect, footwork wrong & hips stiff in reacting to lateral movements. his straight ahead speed looked OK and he hits like a ton when he's locked on his target but looked foolish on even routine plays. late first round pick if he had come out and the reason he decided not to enter the draft :heh:

there is no comparison to Derrick Johnson who is both fluid & quick, has tremendous reaction time & is a defensive playmaker.

well I guess the difference is that Johnson is an OLB and Brooks is an ILB... so they would be athletically different. even though we would have Johnson play ILB in our system.

Anywho.. ive never even seen him play :)..im just going by word of mouth.. so ill just wait and see how he is projected next year.

Still need another first so we can trade up and get Ngata or Wright :) (heres to hoping we NEED to trade up)

Next year Ngata or Wright would be the ideal pick, as both would be able to anchor our D-Line for years to come and wouldn't have to step in full-time as rookies, preseving them better for when they get older...

I dont think there is a chance that Rod Wright will be there at the 32nd pick, but hopefully we can pick up some good talent. :thumbup
