Robert Mathis Done for Season

The Colts were expecting to have linebacker Robert Mathis back in the lineup for their fifth game of the season, but the veteran’s absence is going to go on a lot longer than that.

Mathis tore his Achilles tendon while working out in Atlanta and won’t return to the team at all this year. The Colts found out about the injury on Monday when Mathis, who is barred from communicating with anyone but Colts medical personnel during his suspension, called the head trainer with the bad news. He then passed the word on to coach Chuck Pagano and General Manager Ryan Grigson.

I never wish for injury but this is definitely karma. This guy was not clean last year.

For the first 4 games, no due to his suspension. After that? He's paid.

I sure hope JJ is as clean as we all want to believe he is. But I've seen so many comments on other team's message boards and just in comments sections to articles on Watt, where people are just assuming that he's taking something.

Glad we don't have to deal with Mathis this year.

I can't help but think the same thing and me being so cynical I wonder if he is so good with the public to help shield him from suspicion. I hope I am wrong because he is one of my favorite athletes.
