I apologize for my ignorance, but who is Gosselin? Is he the guy from Dallas who has had a better track record than Kiper in recent years? I'm asking becuase his rankings are very interesting to me...I'm not sure I buy David Greene is a top 5 QB, I don't think Williamson is better than Williams, Jammal Brown over Barron is very contrary to what most seem to think, and I don't think Incognito is better than Baas or Spencer...I am in no way discrediting any of his opinions, I just find them to be very interesting...If he is who I think he is, then there are quite a few misled mocksters out there...
 
Gosselin has some of the best contacts in the biz, and he gathers info from many insider sources. His pre-draft mocks are historically the most accurate of all the mocksters.

I tend to agree with Gosselin on that particular point. Incognito is a very talented center, and he's got an intensity like no other player in this draft. The down side is he's a big risk because of his discipline issues and his attitude. He'd be a good fit at G or C, and if a team can keep him under control they'd be set at that position for years to come.

:hmmm: Do you think Cass would take a chance on him if he were available in the third? Baas has been praised for his intensity also, but he doesn't have off-field issues (that I know of), and I remember an article that said Spencer was the best center prospect to come along in years...If Incognito (who has possibly the coolest last ever) is better than both of them, then I definitely think he's worth the risk of a third round pick...Hopefully teams are scared off by his attitude problems leaving him to slip to us (seems strange to say...we aren't the Raiders)...
 
I'm not sure CC would take a risk on him in the 3rd, but maybe in the 4th or 5th. If he can't learn to control himself he could end up being a big bust, but if he can control himself and keep his head in the game he'd be a steal for whichever team picks him up. The other downside being that he's coming from Nebraska, and it was a running team. His pass blocking might need some work on the NFL level, but I think he'd be fine. His risk/reward is very high, and that's why you don't hear alot of hype about him just yet, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a team searching for some good interior linemen to pick him up in the 3rd or 4th.

Anttaj Hawthorne below Castillo and Babineaux?? We could potentially get Hawthorne in the third round????? or does he think Castillo and Babineaux will be gone by late first, early second?

Other interesting things:

Mark Clayton going BEFORE Williamson AND Williams? wow... that would be a shocker.
Darryl Blackstock would also be available at #2 I think.
Jason Brown may not be available in the 3rd.
Brandon Jacobs could be a good late first day, early second day pick for us.
Ciatrik Fason (sp) Isnt a top 5 RB.
Marcus Spears BELOW Pollack? interesting... so Pollack at 13 may not be a stretch?
Antrel Rolle is STILL the top CB in the draft. Everyone making mocks please take note.
Who is this Chad Owens guy out of Hawaii and do we want him in the 6th/7th??
 
Chad Owens is a short, slow guy that has been touted as an excellent retun man...Seems like another JJ Moses to me...Many of your interpretations may come into fruition on draft day, as many have said this is the most difficult draft to gauge in years...There is bound to be some presumed insanity come draft day...
 
differences I have relate to the fact many of these players "PROJECT" at different positions in the NFL than they played in College. some will excell better than others despite ranking lower in College associated with the team/system they become intergrated into.

I wonder if these are his personal opinions or what he believes is the opinion of the pro teams.

He usually is getting lots of info from teams before he does his mock.

There are some surprises... but I love Mark Clayton... He's great with the ball in hands and could be another Marvin Harrison.
 
I don't think he is saying this is how they would be drafted in these positions, but rather how they stack up tallent wise. I seriously doubt Clayton will be taken before Williams and possibly even Williamson. However, his over all skills MIGHT be better.

Perhaps this is the April Fools Day part of Gosselin's April 1 Mock, because
James is dropping rapidly in many mocks and not just the OurLads Mock whose guy was on 610 the other day and said James would still be on the Board when the first round was completed.
The Mark Clayton and Jammal Brown ratings are also very interesting.
I mean I'm a big Clayton fan and I definitely like him better than Williamson
but Mike Williams is another thing altogether.
This guy doesn't line up with the group think - we all be watching draft day
to see if he knows his stuff.

He doesn't pretend to be a scout and only relays his information that he gathers. I'm sure he has to use some of his own insight to read between a few lines, but he doesn't grade film or break down prospects. His board and his mock will change as we get closer to the draft.

The only thing keeping James' stock low to internet mocksters is the fact that he's injury prone...As far as talent and potential, I think he is the best DE in this draft...There is no way he lasts through the first round, somebody will take a chance on him...
