Rich Rodriguez is now coach at Michigan

Nice Hire for Michigan.

Probably means Slaton is going pro this year.Pat White should stay no matter who the coach is.

While its a nice hire for Michigan, I'm a little disapointed that Rodriguez didn't stay at WVU after all the big speeches he made about staying.

It will be interesting to say the least to see how Rodriguez employs Mallett in that offense. Pryor has Michigan on his list, but they are a new addition. Mallett is still ahead of him on the chart if he were to come, so Pryor wouldn't start until his JR year. Mallett isn't a slouch QB. He has Sunday potential and is a big time player for Michigan.

I'm more interested to see how McGuffie plays in that spread offense and all that open space he will have to work with.

If he had to wait two or three years to play, Pryor wouldn't go there. Apparently, Rodriguez told Pryor the offense would be the same as at WVU. I can see Mallett transferring.

I think kastofna left out this:

I don't see Mallett fitting the system at all, but Mallett is a pro-prospect with experience already. He has intangibles and ability. I don't think Pryor beats him out on talent alone. It would have to be Pryors ability to run that earn him any PT, but regardless, I see Pryor going to Ohio State.

Pryor's become a pretty good passer at the high school level. I just can't see Mallett starting more than a few games, if at all, in a WVU system if Pryor goes there. I do agree there's no guarantee he ends up at Michigan. And there's no guarantee he doesn't end up playing DE.:winky:
