We have more than enough talent on the team already. We don't need baby bush. DD is more than enough to get the job done at RB, and if he wasn't, it would be better to sign a free agent RB in the off season that is already established. For the millionth time, we need to pick D'Braksaw. We can trade down to get him and another pick so we can get another receiver or linebacker.

If anybody say much talent on the field today, you must have been watching the Eagles/Skins game. We are horrible on defense and outside of Andre (and DD when healthy) on offense, we are a stagnant bunch. Very little talent outside of those named and Mathis.

im a texans fan that doesn't live in houston. i used to live in houston about 5 years ago, so ill forever love all houston sports, regardless of how ****ty they may be.
i now live near washington, dc, so i have a love for any DC teams too. and thank god for that, after the heartbreaking performance of the astros in the world series allowing the cheating white sox to steal every game by bribing officials, in addition to this embarrasing season by the texans, seeing the nationals finish strong in their expansion season and the redskins in the playoffs, i can stay alittle sane

but i simply want to know, why are so many "fans" on this board so opposed to drafting reggie bush or pretty much any player(s) that might benefit our team? i mean, a 2-14 season is nothing to brag about, yes we have problems all over the ENTIRE team, offense, defense, special teams, and the sideline coaching. we obviously cant completely overhaul the entire team in one draft, we dont have that many picks, itd sure be nice though.
1) its better to get one player from usc who has been proven to be an outstanding RB, for a position who's current occupant barely put up any numbers all season, than to pass it up for smaller players with less promise, or pick someone stupid. i say, better one good player, than no good players. god knows we could use good players....
2) people need to stop kissing carr's ***, he's a nice guy, but he has had 4 seasons to "get used to the pro level", and he obviously hasnt, he's terrible, get a new QB.
3) yes, we do need practically completely new OL players, because part of carr's problem is the offensive line is terrible and cant block if their lives depended on it. get rid of them, get people who can block and give the QB time in the pocket, this crap is unacceptable.
4) this season, there were so many leads the texans had, and their defense got tired and gave it up with just a few mins left, this is completely unacceptable, they need to hold on to a 11 or so point lead for a whole 2 1/2 mins or they can go back to high school football. pathetic, we need a defensive overhaul. if our defense is as good as people say it is, then why are other teams scoring so many points?
5) having the texans be my favorite team, yes i love them more than the skins, i rooted against them for the "reggie bowl", why?, because getting a chance to pick good draft players first is a higher priority for the future of the organization than winning a meaningless game to have 3 wins instead of 2. if youre such a good fan, you'll realize this, by being so accepting of our current team, then you better become used to losing if youre so opposed to picking obvious things that will aid the team.
i love the city of houston, and id continued to say im a texans fan, but if the high level guys for the texans choose to pass up reggie bush, or anyone that will remotely benefit their football team, then i might just be forced to hate them as they continue to lose game after game and the franchise will tank after a certain point if the losing continues...

I'll agree with you about needing a linebacker. Morlon Greenwood is an absolute pud. That, along with a severe need for an edge rusher, are the only 2 reasons I'd entertain offers to trade back. I just don't think we need to go in looking to trade, I'd rather us go in intent on Bush and have to be convinced heavily NOT to draft him. Anything later than the 2nd round and we'd be taking it up the tailpipe IMO.

So as I'm sitting here watching the AFC championship I game I get to thinking about Denver and their vaunted run
game and the guys they've had in the backfield (rushing yards only):
Clinton Portis; 2nd Rd, avg 1549.5 a season
Tatum Bell; 2nd Rd, avg 658.5 a season
Olandis Gary; 4th Rd, avg 403 a season
Mike Anderson; 6th Rd, avg 764 a season
Terrel Davis; 6th Rd, avg 1086 a season
Domanick Davis; 4th Rd, avg 1065 a season
How did I get my avg a season? If they had a carry in whatever year, I counted it. If the player missed the whole
year, it did not count (i.e. Mike Anderson has 0 carries and 0 yards in 2004).
Numbers can be constrewed in every which way to prove your point, but here is mine. Denvers most productive RB was a
high draft choice, Portis, follwed by their lowest drafted player, Davis. Some people say 1000 yards and your an
elite back, others (me included) say it has to be higher then that (1300+). What Portis, a very good college back who also played for the most dominant college team in his time, did in Denver's Offense was average 1500+ yards. Obviously we dont know what Reggie would do, but possibilites are similar. Both were the best RB's on their team (yes I know about Bush and White), similar body styles (Bush 6'0 200lbs, Portis - 5'11 212lb), people said neither would be able to run the ball between the tackles.
I see what Portis was able to do in the short time he was in Denver and I cant help but think that Bush would have similar success in the same offense in Houston. JMO....
