Reggie Bush (Best RB of the ESPN Era)?

bkimble said:
There is a poll on ESPN for best RB of the ESPN era and the choices are:

Herschel Walker
Bo Jackson
Barry Sanders AND...
Reggie Bush

That's sick joke, right. What about Eric Dickerson or Rick Williams? Rick Williams broke the all-time college rushing record and had more yards and touchdowns in his JR and SR seasons than RB had.

Are they serious? Reggie Bush one of the top 4 RBs in college football over the last 25 years? Are you freaking kidding me? This guy is nowhere near Mr. Dickerson, Rick Williams or Bo freaking Jackson. In fact, I'm not sure he was the best RB on his team at USC. :yahoo:

There's a reason he was not in the pivotal offensive play for USC in their biggest game last season. That is inexcusable, and really shouldn't matter that White was on his team also. It's just ridiculous to put Bush's career in the same stratosphere as Walker, Jackson, and Sanders. Those people at ESPN are on crack!

Bush is getting blown up very similar to Tond mandarich did. A pretty good player being hyped as the best player of his generation, (what a joke)and he's not even close. What's next from those clowns at ESPN, that the Bush USC football team is the greatest in college football history! Oh, I'm sorry, they tried that act once, then they ran into somebody name Vince Young.
Way to go ESPN.

Bush hasn't played a down in the NFL yet, and why no Shaun Alexander......have you seen his stats, yards and TD's! Ok he's not much of a recieving threat but heck dont you want running backs to run?

Great pick on Young going #3.

'Course, with the NFL Network announcing that the Titans were going to take Young the night before the draft, it's not much of a revelation. Or was it just a goofy coincindence that of the 5 players invited to New York for the draft, Young was the only one to walk on stage and accept a jersey with his number (#10) instead of the #1 jerseys the other players received?

Anyone who knows Bud could see that coming well before the draft. I knew it would happen when the Texans offered Carr the extension. I put something on the titans board about that back in March and got very mixed reviews on that prediction from titans fans who still don't understand the man who owns their team.

I'm a big fan of ESPN and watch their presentations on a regular basis.
But never forget the "E" stands for entertainment, and IMO they are more that than a sports info cable channel. And their constant promotion of poker is probably the best example of what I'm talking about - entertainment, you bet; sports, no way.
But back to Reggie, a player who ESPN promotes relentlessly. Never forget
who owns ESPN, and that of course is ABC, which in turn is owned by the
entertainment conglomerate Walt Disney. And Disney is based in LA, same
place where SoCal calls home. What a coincidence. Reggie and his SoCal
buddy Leinert want to be in the movies, right. Dang, doesn't Disney make
movies ?

Agreed. Bud has even said he'd like to play a pre-season game in Austin. And you know his motivation is to rub the Texans' nose in it.

However, that doesn't change the predictions that were made before NFL Network announced the Titans were taking Young the night before the draft.
