I'm really liking this signing. Another guy that seems like he really wants to be here.:clap::clap:

I want guys who want to be here.

I also want receivers who catch and safeties who tackle. I don't trust a receiver who has problems with dropping catches in College to improve in the Pros.

We have the talent on defense to win 10 or 11 games. I expect the Texans to add some dynamic playmakers on offense during this upcoming draft. We will probably invest into the offense during the first three rounds of the draft. Pick #16 in round one will most certainly be used on a wide receiver.

dont forget we need extra d-line depth, a starting NT, and a starting LB but LB depth. Free agency isnt over but we need to get at least one of these before the draft starts.

I was so glad to see Atl pay big bucks for an overrated Dunta, rather than the Texans.

You cant have a great 3-4 defense without great LB's. (The reason Clowney was drafted.) Since I'm not counting on Clowney for anything. I hope Smith drafts Rd.1 Dupree Rd.2 Kendricks. If Clowney is able to make it back 80-90% then the Texans would have best deepest LB corps in the NFL.

OLB's Dupree/Clowney/Mercilus/Tarpinian/Simon

ILB's Cushing/Kendricks/Mohammed.

Sign Wilfork/Lewis combined with KJ/Moore signings and you've got a dominant top 5 defense. If Nix plays to his talent level the defense could be awesome. All of this could be done cheaply.

Love this signing.

Not to put a damper on your enthusiasm, which I largely share, but you can't be a complete zero at LB and expect to have the best defense. I know everyone keeps thinking Cushing is going to be 2010 Cushing, but it ain't happening. And OLB? They keep drafting them and keep ending up with zip to show for it. Maybe B'OB can start drafting solid players at LB, because the previous regime had a combo of bad luck with injuries and terrible talent assessment.

These guys have performed so admirably that we've had guys like Tarpinian, Dent, Tuggle, and probably a few more I can't remember manning the position. Doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence.

I completely agree with this. I love the signing. I'm not worried about the secondary at all, but who are our LBs outside of Cushing (who sucks, let's be real here) and Mercilus? Do we seriously have Tarpinian starting as a LB?

The thing I love about Moore is that not only is he great as the last man standing at coverage, but he is a damn sure tackler once he meets his man in open field.

Since he's a safety, I can live with him being mediocre in coverage, but it's his tackling that drives me up the wall. I've lost count how many times he whiffed the tackle because he was so focused on knocking the ball out.

I get that he's always trying to force a turnover, but he needs to concentrate less on that, and more on wrapping the guy up.

If he's counted on to cover backs and TE's, yeah being mediocre at best in coverage bothers me.

Totally agree on the tackling

LOVE LOVE LOVE this signing but this defense needs depth bigtime up front. Im seeing a big push for front seven guys early in the draft.

Yeah i am excited about this kid, he is young talented and seems hungry to be the best, and he seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

His tackling has been up and down honestly. Some years good, some bad. I'm happy about having him though, he's an upgrade at a decent price.

Still hoping for Wisniewski.

I was hoping for him before we even let Myers go. That would make this FA season better than we could of ever expected. Actually if we could only afford one I would rather have him at a reasonable price than have Wilfork. There are several good NT's/DE's types we could pick up in this draft. Wilfork is what 33? I believe Wisnewski is only around 25 or 26.

Shelton if he falls, Brown, Phillips would be nice at 16. Goldman and Carl Davis would be nice in the second round. Any of these guys would be better long term answers than Wilfork. But you wont see me complain if we do finally get a monster in the middle.

I would be down with that.

Found out his nickname was Rahim "The Dream" Moore. He sounds like a good compliment with DJ, as his primary focus is his ability to centerfield in coverage. I would still like to see Lewis back on the team (at an equal cost) for the nickel/dime packages, while DJ plays near the line.

Hope someone told him that nick name wont fly around here. Only one Dream allowed in Houston

Fantastic signing. Very good player and we got him at a great price. I'd still like to bring back Lewis so we can push Swearinger to the bench.

Looks like the sky isn't falling around here anymore so that's good too.

I have Malcom Brown and Stephony Anthony then follow with Tre McBride and Tony Lippett and think that is pretty darn solid.

best part of this is Raheem can get Moore better with coaching. I have not watched much of him in NFL but I think his problem in regards to tackling is a fear of missing a tackle and while "over thinking" does miss. He has more confidence in breaking up pass than the run. That can be fixed but not sure he will buy into the coaching on that. If he can improve as did KJ and Lewis, he will be fine. Hopefully Bullough is paying attention.

We need to be more excited about this signing. A true centerfielder ballhawk in the secondary is something we've always needed!

Don't know what you expect us to do... backflips?

Yeah it's a great signing and many voiced their pleasure over it. It's not new news now, other topics are in the spoghtlight

FS Rahim Moore
(on his first impression of the Texans) “I think mainly just the bond and the friendship of everybody. Not
only just embracing myself, but everybody around the whole team is real cool. I really loved the way we
worked the first day, especially as a defensive back group. We put in some great work today, which is a
great start to have for us to be the kind of secondary we want to be.”

(on the potential of the Texans secondary with cornerbacks like Johnathan Joseph and Kareem Jackson)
“Absolutely. Those guys today, they ran every drill for us. They’re exactly everything you think they are.
They are worth more than what they even do. I respect those guys so much. Kareem (Jackson) is like my
big brother. Johnathan Joseph is one of the best corners in the league, seriously. I’m excited to be here
and I’m excited to be with them.”

(on working with guys he is close and familiar with) “It’s a blessing. Kareem (Jackson) and I have been
training with each other since I came out of college. In Florida, Boca Raton, D.J. (Swearinger) and I as
well. That’s a blessing. Kareem and I see eye-to-eye. D.J. and I do, too. That’s a good start because
sometimes you can go into situations that’s not like that and it can take some time. But our first day, you
would have thought that we all have been working with each other for the past couple years.”

(on how helpful it will be to play with guys he is familiar with) “Oh, it’s very helpful because, at the end of
the day, the great secondary’s communicate first and foremost. Every play they are constantly talking. If
we can do that and then once the ball is snapped play football, I think we should be fine.”

(on playing behind DE J.J. Watt) “I’m excited. Today, this guy was just like working out way after the work
outs are done. He is one of the best football players I’ve ever seen in my life. He seriously is. He is
remarkable. He is special. He’s a big reason why I’m here because great players and defensive lineman
help defenses out. He’s definitely been a big part.”

(on if it seemed like Day 1 for DE J.J. Watt) “Not at all. As he’s walking over to the facility and to the grass, he was jogging like it was practice tempo. That’s the type of guy he is. That’s why he deserves every bit of accolades that he has because he puts in the work.”

(on how he felt before working out with his teammates for the first time today) “I was actually excited. I wasn’t too anxious. It is my fifth year. I was excited for me in my fifth year. Time flies by. I think last year I was more jittery and nervous because I was coming off my injury. Today, I actually felt at peace. I don’t think I’ve felt like this in so long, seriously. I believe that God has brought me here for a reason. I’m excited and I’m looking forward to the future.”

(on working with Broncos QB Peyton Manning) “He’s my favorite quarterback of all time. He’s on my Mount Rushmore. He showed me a lot. I’ve learned a lot from him. Practicing versus him every day in practice has really helped me out. It made me better. We’ve had our battles and we’ve had our arguments, but he is a great player. I thank him for everything he has done for me, seriously.”

(on arguing with Broncos QB Peyton Manning) “We just bickered on the field. He made some plays against me that I didn’t like. I did some things that he didn’t like. At the end of the day, we had a friendship and he’s a great guy.”

(on if he feels rejuvenated with a new team) “Absolutely. It kind of shows you that if you’re on one team, you can go to another team and be just as good or just as great. I feel like when some guys change teams, it can be for the worse. But I feel like this opportunity is for the better. I love what the organization has to bring. The group of guys, and I’m just excited for a fresh, new start and for the Texans in 2015.”

(on his injury history and how he feels now) “I’m feeling great. I’m at 126 percent. God has really, truly blessed me and healed me. I just had a little compartment syndrome in my leg. It happened. I want to leave that in the past and just move forward with my life. Just know that I’m 100 percent and I’m ready to help this team win.”
