Question for Cowboys Fans

Resident Grouch
In what year of their existance did Tom Landry turn the Boys into winners?
Been a shame if Tex had given up on him too early.

Oops...wrong forum....dont know how to move it. :penalty:

Gosh you know times were so different then and fans too I suppose. I can't see any scenerio today where a NFL owner would wait 7 years for a coach to produce a winner. Murchison was the anti Jerry though...he stayed completely away from football and let Tex and Tom run the team.

Everyone is so "microwave" now. Instant everything, me included. Sure would have been a mistake to have fired Landry in year four. :trophy:
Still dislike the boys and especially jerruh .
Of course I don't believe Capers is a Landry either.
These are the times that try men's (and ladies) souls.

but then again how do you know when a coach has IT? and you shouldn't give up on them. I agree with you cac there is no patience these days.

Actually Jerry is a very nice man...I meet him very briefly years ago and he was kind and easy to talk to. I don't always like what he's done and I think he's made some horrid football mistakes but I don't dislike him. In some respects his involvement speaks volumes about how much he cares and in other respects it's very intrusive. I just take it for what it is and has been from the day he purchased the team...he said he would be involved at all levels and he certainly has been. And it's his dime so it's just the way it is.

I like Coach Capers but feel perhaps he's much better suited to be a defensive coordinator which he excells at. Very nice man and I'm impressed with his courtesy on his 610 radio show. Perhaps he's lost the team and will be fired but I wouldn't wish that on anybody.
