A quote from Len Pasquarelli's NFL column on ESPN:
"Most scouts now feel that Vanderbilt's Jay Cutler will be the second quarterback chosen in the 2006 draft"

Has anyone seen this kid play? I would put solid money that his pro career will be leaps and bounds better than Leinharts.... Leinhart is nothing but a product of USC media hype. The kid has never had pressure and will be out of his element when he faces a real pro defense...

Culter on the other hand has produced while standing behind one of the worst O-Lines in college history (Vanderbilt) and in the defense intence SEC. The kid has almost single handily picked apart some of the very best college teams

Screw Leinhart... take Culter

he will be the second senior QB taken as of now, but some juniors will go in front of him if they declare. great prospect. still projected as mid 3rd.

No way he falls to the 3rd. I'm still a big follower of SEC football (I used to live a few mins from the Grove at Mississippi and went to all the SEC games - so I still keep up with the league ) and this kid is better than Aaron Rodgers was coming out last year imo. I stated the same thing about how he won't last till the 3rd round here too (just making note that I didn't just form this opinion for this thread).

Jay Cutler has a rocket arm, great accuracy, quicks, and must have some smarts coming out of Vandy. Hard to understand why he isn't graded higher. Almost beat Florida single handedly in the Swamp and beat Tennessee on the road. He's for real if he lasts to the 3rd I'd be surprised.

I'm sure he will be graded higher by the time the scouts insight start to fully trickle down to the rest of us. Most of the stuff you see now are "best guesses" of the media and everyone else...that's why you see the draft boards change so radically every single year as we get closer to April...year in, year out.

i like him too, but he will be gone too high for us to even consider.

for those of you looking for a back up QB: Brodie Croyle, Guy from Toledo who's name i cant spell, reggie mcneil

It was only a matter of time before his stock skyrocketed. Anyone that can make Vanderbilt competitive in just about every game has to have some talent. I loved watching him come back to beat Tennessee. It is a shame they lost a couple of very close games. With one more win, they would have gone to their first bowl since 1982.

How high do you think he can go? I think he can pull a Matt Jones 21 or so give or take a pick or ten.

it all depends on which junior QB's come out. Brady Quinn, VY, Drew Stanton, and maybe even Omar Jacobs are all rated higher than him. He will impress with his arm at pre-draft workouts, but so will all those juniors (they dont come out because they are tired of college life)

I guarantee Brady Quinn becomes Tom Brady right out the gate...killin' people the minute he steps on the field in the NFL.

Quinn > you!

i doubt he sees the field for a while, but i agree he will be sucessfull. I see him less as tom brady, more as a brett farve or possible david carr: gifted athlete w/a cannon for an arm who has played through diversity and still warents his high pick.
