Reggie McNeal will be lucky to get drafted after the stunt he pulled at the end of last season where he was going to be the starter against Texas but didnt show up to any of the team meetings.JSlat6 said:Reggie McNeal is the answer to competiton to David Carr
And so for yet another year, Carr will not be challenged in training camp and will not have anyone to push him.Coach C. said:He is the franchise signal caller and in a new system will put up numbers similar to carson Palmer. Yeah I said it. Banks should be gone, Ragone you are the backup and whoever the best QB in the 7th round is that is my guy.
if we get kubiak, which looks like the most fesable option at the moment, look for Plummer like number, minus the stupid INT's. That sort of production (20-25 Td's with 10 INT's coupled with DD and Wells/Morency giving us a solid running game (i am theorzing we go the D'Brick/trade down route) and we should have a top 10 offense.Coach C. said:He is the franchise signal caller and in a new system will put up numbers similar to carson Palmer. Coach C. said:I have no problem with a QB not having competition when he is your guy, and in case you have not noticed Carr is our guy.
It's human nature to do better when someone is pushing you then when you've been handed the job, that's all I'm saying. Almost every other QB in the league had to win his job and beat out a vet except Carr. Palmer is the guy in Cinci put even he had to wait because he couldnt beat on Kitna. Big Ben wasnt the QB in Pittsburg until the starter went down with an injury.Coach C. said:He will finally have QB coach and a HC to push him. That is who he will have. I have no problem with a QB not having competition when he is your guy, and in case you have not noticed Carr is our guy.
AJ dropped a lot of balls this year and Mathis dropped a few of he small selection. After this season, I wouldnt say that AJ and Mathis have better hands then Lelie and Watts.Coach C. said:RDR you have actually done your homework. And just think he can throw the ball deep to guys like Andre and Mathis that wont consistently drop the rock like Ashley Lelie and Darius Watts.
So you are scared that Carr may fold under competition/pressure???Coach C. said:There are more people that fold under competition than do well. That is human nature and fact.

If my QB cant handle competition, i dont want him leading the 2 minute drive down by 4 starting from his 20 yard line.
ThaShark316 said:You see, we'll just hand it off to Bush and he'll get an 80 yard run and win it for us.![]()
I dont classify Carr as great that's why he needs competition, and you can think Carr will be great but you cannot say he is great.jerek said:What other great QBs in the league this year have someone "pushing" them for their job.
Texans86 said:I'm really hoping that was sarcasm. No matter what most people on this board seem to think, Bush will not score a touchdown everytime he touches the ball. He might get a touch or two in the two minute drill, but it's the QB's job to drive the team down the field, not the RB/

Is this really a component of NFL football, or is it more entirely baseless hearsay that people have pulled out of their *** to slam DC?
It is not that common in the NFL - if it happens more than once a year, at that - to see a QB's success tied to the imminent threat of his backup usurping his role.
We do not need to pay some high-priced has-been to come on our roster, when we can pay a good coach 20% of that.
All those guys I mentioned have won some type of award due to they good QB play, except Garcia, who has been to the pro bowl, and McMahon. Banks won a super bowl ring watching from the sideline.Coach C. said:Did these guys push these guys are just get beaten out by better talent. If you check that Warner was sent packing for the young stud as will the rest of the names you have on your list. Technically isnt Banks the equivalent of the guys you listed. So Carr has been pushed according to you. Right?

Hervoyel said:If you're bringing someone in now that means Carr isn't your guy and you want this veteran to come in and play.

Exactly. Just like the 'he doesn't hang out and drink with the o-line so let's get rid of him' BS we've heard about ad nauseam.jerek said:Is this really a component of NFL football, or is it more entirely baseless hearsay that people have pulled out of their *** to slam DC?
