Ouch! The Derek Johnson "Go DJ" video hurt pretty bad. All those highlights, and a good portion of them were from games against Baylor. :thud:
 
 
The Cedric Benson video on Mackbrown's website sucks. So I have a much better Cedric Benson link for you guys.

I've seen Bob from hpf compare him to Ron Dayne (great College back but a slow plodder for an NFL back)...and although I think Bob has a good eye for talent I just don't see the easy to hit Dayne when I watch Benson and his wiggle in short space. Benson may not have elite speed but he has great vision and has the ability to avoid contact. This is something Dayne doesn't have. I can't say I'd be unhappy if we ended up with him.
 
I thought I might also throw in Derrick Johnson's Highlight video from 03, it is also very sick. It shows his great ability to drop in pass coverage. IN 03 he was used alot more in coverage, in 04 he was used alot more to blitz. Like I have been saying, the complete package. I have a mancrush on the man.

The DJ film was insane! I forgot how fast he closed on people. I say he's #1 on our draft list. Our team core is pretty solid and and he would be a perfect fit in our cast of young stars.
 
The David Baas one looks pretty good. I wouldn't mind seeing him becoming a Texan. Would it be wise to draft him with #13 or should we trade down? I'm looking for options.

We could probably trade down and still pick him up late in the 1st.

Well hopefully you are right and he is available to the Texans. I'll bet he is gone by the time the Texans' 2nd round pick rolls around.
 
I would love to see D.J in a Texan uniform and there is no way Baas will drop to our 2nd pick but I wouldn't be surprised if we pulled off a Babin and traded down for him. Baas is without a doubt a stud.

Did you watch TV on Jan 5, Adrian Peterson got OWNED. He got hit so hard he is still feeling it. He saw the light at the end of the tunnel and it was the train of Shaun Cody and the great USC defense. On top of that AP isn't gonna do **** next year with no QB and a new OL. They lose like 3 starters on OL and eveyone will be asking, WHERE DID HE GO?

Matt Leinhart was clearly the Heisman winner. Maybe SF will suck bad next year too just to get him in the first overall pick.

I just watched the Mark Clayton highlight video and all I can say is :shocked if he was 3 inches taller, he'd be a top 10 pick easily...He seems like he'd be a better option for us than Williamson...He's a better route runner, has better hands, and ran basically the same 40 time as Williamson...The only advantage Williamson has over Clayton is size...For some reason, Clayton reminds me of Marvin Harrison minus 1 inch...

He had the same 40 as Williamson? (like a 4.37 or w/e it was) I always thought he was deceptively fast but not really NFL type speed. But yea he has great hands and quick moves on his route runnning and definetly wouldnt mind grabbing him, mabye we can trade and get a late first rounder to get him. :thumbup
 
Williamson posted a 4.37 40 and Clayton posted a 4.43 40, not much of a difference...I just don't see why so many people are sold that Williamson is exponentially better than Clayton...If I had to guess, I'd say Clayton will be the better pro...
 
I've seen some people compare Williamson to a young Chad Johnson. I don't have much of an opinion on him myself and the Gamecocks don't have a QB or any semblence of a passing offense, so it is hard to say. I trust the Texans scouts over perception though. If we take him I will assume he has some skills.

I completely agree...The staff gets paid to make the tough decisions and I trust their polished evaluation skills over my amateurish skills...Last year, I was sold that Hall was going to be better than D-Rob, and I'm pleasently surprised with the results (even if Hall was available at 10, D-Rob would've been the pick, per an article I saw a while back on HPF)...

Posted on kffl - Don't know if someone else has already put the link up around here or not. I think Benson is our pick if he's there at 13 - I think the 40 times have been overhyped and people need to look at him as a football player. He seems to have incredible balance and agility and seems to effortlessly power through guys. He also has reliable hands and can be counted on in short yardage. Durability is a question I guess but DD can still get some snaps to ease the overall load.
