Prospect meetings

Is anyone keeping track of draft prospects that we’ve been meeting up with? I’ve been super busy lately, and I haven’t been keeping track.

Thanks, where did you get this info from?

I wish we could get a list from the Sr Bowl. The Texans seem to draft alot of guys they meet with at the Sr. Bowl.

I hope they can get guys like Hightower (Who has WFV type speed and is very dynamic but is skinny in the 4th rd. Hilbers is a guy I really like as a late rd guy because he played RT then after Adams got hurt he shifted over to LT and did very well at both spots. He played LT while McGary stayed at RT after Adams got hurt.

You cant go wrong picking OT's from Washington.

I provided links, Walter Football. They also had info on Senior Bowl meetings. No Texans meetings were listed.

I’m interested in seeing who they interview on the defensive side of the ball. Players I hope they get to know better:
Kyle Dugger S/LB
Julian Okwara Edge
Trevon Diggs CB
Jeff Gladney CB
Troy Pride Jr CB
Noah Igbinoghene CB
Curtis Weaver Edge

Well, I reacted before thinking, (what a shock), and failed to include the offensive lineup just above this one. I am amazed that, for once, the Texans are interested in many of the same prospects that I am. I am highly encouraged .... for the present .... anyway !

Yep,

They're looking at alot of guys I like too. Looks like they're in the WR/RB market.

I cant wait to see who they're interviewing on the Defensive side of the ball.

I can see why they like Cam Akers. He took a ton of carries out of the shotgun like we like to do with DW4 & Hyde, but unlike Hyde, Akers has beast level lateral quickness, break away speed and very good hands out of the backfield. 1st glance you think he's a tiny dude but he's really not. 5'9 217. put a few more pounds of muscle on him & he's a legit 3 down back. Also runs through alot of contact....unlike Duke. Reminds me ALOT of Alvin Kamara.

Where would you draft him? I like him in the 3rd, but don’t know if he’ll drop that far.

Have no idea honestly as i don't get too caught up in the draft. I usually just look at a few guys the texans are rumored to be interested in but that's about it. The only RBs i hear any of the draftniks talking about are Swift & Dobbins so i'm going to assume those guys are rated above him even though i don't see a whole lot of difference between Dobbins & Akers except what they had around them. So given how the position has been devalued over the last decade or so I could easily see him dropping to the 3rd or possibly even 4th depending on how teams feel about Taylor a guy i would definitely take Akers over....Edit, i take that back..i'd be happy with Taylor too, reminds me of Arian..just runs a little too straight up for my liking.

I don't either .... most years I think he would be gone by mid second or early third, but .... this draft seems to be brimming with talent. I would think a lot will depend upon how natural his hands are !

For a 247 lb back, this guy is pretty nimble. And I don't care who you are or what league you play in. No one wants to tackle a 247 lb RB. Watch how many would be tacklers are going after his ankles.

He’s definitely a bruiser who would be available in the later rounds. I guess it ultimately depends on what type of back the BOB wants to add.

I will say that the Texans interviewing Henderson was a surprise. He’s graded as a Rd 1 talent and is expected to be long gone before the Texans pick at 57.

.. and then?
The NFL announced Tuesday that the AFC South champions would get three compensatory picks in the April draft.

Houston was awarded the earliest compensatory pick of the draft in the third round at No. 97 overall. This is possibly due to the Kansas City Chiefs signing defensive back Tyrann Mathieu, who earned All-Pro honors with the AFC West champions en route to a Super Bowl LIV victory.

The Texans also got two seventh-round picks at No. 248 and No. 250, which could be because of the Denver Broncos signing defensive back Kareem Jackson and the Dallas Cowboys signing defensive lineman Christian Covington.....

Jason Huntley RB - Pro Day Link
This guy is NFL fast. Huntley won't play RB in the NFL. Only ran swing routes as a receiver. And didn't return punts. But when he's got an angle or is in the open field, it's over. Worth taking a chance on as a returner as Huntley learns the slot WR position.
