Wish i could ask some of these guys why Dr Doom isn't on the list.

I saw Darren Sharper as a hall nominee and literally the first thing I thought of was ...

Lot of great oline there too.

Is this the year of the RB?
Maybe TO.
Memory tells me that Alan Faneca was beast on the OL.

Terrell Davis is a tough one. He is a slightly better Arian Foster - oft injured, could make the best of zone blocking.

Moose should make it in, no doubt but tough for a FB. If coaches could find players like Moose 32 teams would be playing fullbacks.

LT will get in at some point.

Other than that the rest don't deserve it.

Faneca was a beast.

I'd vote in Roger Craig. Moose and LT too, of course. Iffy on TD, as always.

But man, Faneca, Kreutz, Mawae, Newton, Wisniewski ... and Boselli is kinda the TD of that group. What a haul.

No Dr. D

Quite a few OL worthy on that list... I see LT has the only back worthy

What about Edgerrin James?
I think LT makes it. All those TDs and years he dominated in SD.
Terrell Davis makes it eventually; needs a weak class to get in. This may be it.
Jason Taylor probably.

I don't think James dominated his position. Not sure about Taylor either

I think TD should get in. He was clearly the best RB in football for awhile there, and his personal accolades support it. NFL MVP. Super Bowl MVP. Rushing yards leader. Twice NFL Offensive MVP.

Compare his numbers to Gale Sayers, another NFL great with a career cut short by injuries.

My take is if Jerome Bettis is in the HoF, then it is a no -brainer that TD deserves it. I never thought The Bus was the best RB in football in any given year, but TD was the best for a couple of years. Elway the player would not have his two rings without him.

JMO

p.s. pisses me off that Dr. Doom is ignored, yet again.

Here are the guys I'd be happy to see make it. To be honest some of it is personal bias towards guys I loved growing up.

Randall Cunningham - before his time versatility/excitement machine
Kurt Warner - such a good story and such an efficient QB
Tony Boselli (I kid, $&# Boselli and his broken down a$$)
Nate Newton - defined the big mean guard type
Steve Wisniewski - So good for so long
Cornelius Bennett - Biscuit was a key part to the 4 time Super Bowl losers defense
Clay Matthews - again so good for so long
Steve Atwater - One of my two favourite players growing up (Ronnie Lott) and a very good safety
Steve Tasker - The very definition of STer
Don Coryell - Offensive genius

LT I think should make it. Edge, no.

This is an unfair standard (and Houston fans will really hate it) but Edge never created. Emmitt created every time he took the ball. He demanded the ball. He wanted to take over games. It was so powerful he affected the huddle. He knew he was hurt against the Giants and still demanded the ball.

That's HoF.

Agree that L.T. is a lock.
As for Eggerin, he has more rushing yds than Marcus Allen, Franco, Thurman Thomas, John Riggins, and O.J. He's only 33 yds behind Marshall Faulk. He has more career rushing TDs than Dorsett and Earl. All of those guys have gold jackets. You're leaving him out why again?

Because he was never dominate. There was never a time you went oh sh!t Edge is about to take the game.

Emmitt said stack the box and I'll still ram it down your throat. Busted shoulder, don't care - give me the ball. That wasn't Edge.

Tony Dorsett was the prettiest RB, Emmitt was the toughest. His right hand was ridiculous.

In case folks have forgotten Dorsett:

Oh I remember TD. Dude had speed to burn. He wasn't the prettiest RB, he was up there but in my mind that would be Marcus Allen or Marshall Faulk.

But then we may have completely different definitions of "prettiest".

And I keep forgetting your Cowboy bias

:)

Judging eras is always hard, but there are some RBs in the Hall that Edge is/was clearly better than. And that dude could flat out run and had about a year and a half of his prime taken due to injury.

I lean yes on him, especially knowing that workhorse RBs are such a dying breed and in years to come the club will just evolutionally become more exclusive with or without him.

Ok I grew up on Roger Staubach. Kind of spoils you. Everything is downhill from there.

Seriously, you're a kid in the Staubach era in Dallas? He went to Annapolis. Heisman. Vietnam. He was Capt. America, the Comeback Kid, Capt. Comeback. You never felt like a game was out of reach. You'd watch Landry chew on him for not sliding. Landry never got upset except with Staubach. You had to love him.

Met him later in life. Really nice guy.
