Pro-Bowl Teams.

Andre Johnson - 73 catches, 1083 yards, 5 TDs
Jimmy Smith - 69 catches, 1133 yards, 6 TDs
Reggie Wayne - 71 catches, 1059 yards, 11 TDs

Wayne's not a Pro Bowler either. Like gwallaia said...every year there is somebody worthy that's left off. This year, it was Wayne more than anybody else (considering the players that were selected before him).

The Pro Bowl has almost become as big of a joke as the Heisman.

Consider:

Hines Ward - 75 catches, 972 yards, 4 TDs
Drew Bennett - 76 catches, 1171 yards, 10 TDs

Ward? Pro Bowl. Bennett? Staying home.

Drew Bennet has got most of those numbers the last three weeks with Billy Volek throwing the ball over 140 times during that time....28 catches for 517 yards and 8 TDs to be precise. The Titans still couldn't win LMAO.It shows you how bad the secondaries of Indy#29,KC#32 and Oakland #31 are. Most of the voting occured before Drew did anything.

Jimmy Smith deserved to be there instead of Hines and Donnie Edwards or London Fletcher before Ray Lewis.

Oh Hines got his numbers with an offense thats passing a lot less this year. He had stated weeks ago that the Pro Bowl means nothing and his goals are much higher.

I was surprised Randy Moss was not picked this year. He's one of the biggest stars in the NFL and along with Vick one of the most exciting playmakers
in the game, but has been inactive a lot this year due to injury. He didn't deserve to be picked, but many times an established star makes it purely on accumualted performances from past years and sheer popularity.

Ok... I am excited for Andre for a bit different reason then I think the rest of you are. Can you imagine what Andre Johnson learning from Marvin Harrison, and Hines Ward. Catching balls from Payton.. That is the coolest part... to me.

I don't know if this has been mentioned but I just noticed it how in the hell did Chris McAllister make it to the pro bowl over Aaron Glenn and Dunta Robinson and the other 99 AFC CB's who have posted better numbers this season???? McAllister has 1 INT, 33 tackles, and 8 passes defended!!!! WTF!!!

Yeah, everyone knows Chris Mcallister doesn't deserve it. As much heat as champ gets, he's been pro-bowl worthy, but he is no where near the expectations he has. Mcalister didn't play the whole season, and didn't play well when he did

If the Texans had the 28th rated pass defense and Robinson had such a good year, who was getting torched all season? Did Aaron Glenn have that bad of a year?

Not saying Robinson didn't have a good year and he will most certainly be a contender for DROY. But that rating has got to have something to do with him.

Are we still 28th? The ranking of our defense has been baffling me for some time now. Our D is not anywhere near that bad. Look what our D has done in the last 3 weeks. We held Indy to their fewest points this year and we shut out Jax. I think our offense made our D look bad in a few games and that was mostly the O-line stinking it up. I find it strange that our offense has been rated higher than our defense for much of this year.

Can anyone tell me where to find out D and Off. rankings? All I ever see are overall team rankings every week.

On the Pro-bowl, I don't know why they still have one. They should just choose players and not actually play the game, because hardly anyone watches it. The times I've watched it in the past, which has been quite a while (I think), it's just been really boring. Who cares what happens in that game or who wins? We all just want to know who's gonna go to it.

As of this week we are ranked 23rd in Pass defense, which is based on pass yards per game by the opposition.

To my suprise, we are ranked 13th in Rushing defense, the same rules apply as passing.

We rank 24th in total defense.

I got the stats and numbers from NFL.com

The Texans are currently 23rd in passing D--they are 15th in scoring D. Go to NFL.com and hit Stats--you can scroll down and get a number of different rankings.

In response to Huge's question, three primary answers (1) the secondary did get torched some--it was a team effort with Glenn, Robinson, Foreman, Faggins, Brown & Coleman all giving up big plays at times, (2) we played all 5 of the top offenses and one of them (Indy) twice and (3) the rankings can be deceiving because they are on yards given up (there is a scoring O and D ranking as well but they are rarely cited) and don't give any consideration to the number of plays run. For example Tampa Bay has only faced 400 passing attempts this year while San Diego has faced 554 so going strictly off yards is questionable--by the way Tampa Bay ranked #2 in passing D has given up 19 passing TD's, while San Diego ranked #29 has given up 18.
