Preseason Week 1(?) Texans at Steelers

TC is the practice site for live reps. Preseason games are the practice sites for winning regular season games, players and coaches alike since the games are unscripted.
Not true at all. You don't get live, padded, in game, real tackle reps at a freaking regular training camp practice, especially against your own team. Even joint practices against other teams aren't the same because QBs wear the don't tackle me jerseys. In a PS game the QB can be hit. Huge difference.

Congratulations Baller! You must be so proud😊 Happy for you!
Thank you Ringo, yes we’re very proud indeed.

Thank you guys for the congratulations.

I was finally able to watch the game. First half we dominated pretty much every aspect of the game.

The second half with the 3rd and 4th stringers wasn’t good at all. I surely hope we don’t have that deep into the roster on defense. They that bad and lost.

Not really because he wasn't a worker. He did the bare minimum.

Even David Carr himself admitted this about himself when he was a backup to Eli Manning. I'm paraphrasing but he said something like, "I didn't realize how much time it took for an NFL QB to study film and prepare for the next game, until I saw Eli." Where as David use to quote/unquote "take the game films back to his house." I don't know if I fully blame this on David as he was a good kid who didn't know any better, he could have used a hard ass QB coach that made him work before granting him the position.

I don't think that is what the poster was implying. It was a simple statement on what makes a WR a Prima Donna,

Carr once said, "Andre is ALWAYS open" referring to the fact that Andre would tell him how wide open he was after every single pass play. The "Alpha" receivers always want the ball and will say so, it's how they go about it that could make them a Prima Donna/Diva.

Very seldom do I find myself in (almost) total agreement with someone else... So, this is noteworthy. I agree with every one of your observations, except: I would definitely utilize Tank in the return game. I look forward to him returning kickoffs as well!
Meh, I want to see Dell as fresh as possible for when he is catching passes from CJ.
I see no reason to put him at further risk.

With 1:49 left in the quarter and the Texans 63 yards away would you have been happy to go into the half with a chip shot FG with six seconds left. At least in TC the Texans could practice a two minute drill with starters on both sides of the ball, not scrubs fighting for back end roster spots. I don’t know what those two plays that they “farted” around at the start of the drive. Was is miscommunication between scrubs? If so did that determine the Texans drive? Certainly not time wise. Doesn’t matter. Any play the Texans ran during that drive could have potentially resulted in a TD because Mills was able to establish a rhythm. The Steelers weren’t defending a run in that series. Texans got Mills a lot of reps in that drive despite the pressure he faced. He effectively ran a < two minute drill and got that FG that often is all that is needed to win a game in the fourth qtr. while gaining experience and more importantly, confidence.

The first 2 plays of that drive is where I had the problem. That's it. They wasted a ton of time. Yes, they did eventually get a FG out of it. Great. But what if they had been in hurry up mode from the beginning? Maybe they get a couple of shots at the end zone and maybe score a TD. That's all I'm talking about. I couldn't care less what the score was, or if they needed those points at the end to win a freaking PS game, or if they made a mistake and got their lead cut in half seconds before the half ended. Winning PS games is not the goal.

With fewer PS games being played, and even fewer when they go to an 18 game schedule, you don't get as many opportunities to run 2 minute drills, or play smash mouth football at the goal line, or whatever situation that comes up in a game that you can't duplicate in practice because QBs are wearing the don't tackle me shirts. Real tackle football at real speed where you can be hit is a whole lot different than knowing you can't be hit at practice. The goal in a PS game is getting those live reps in, particularly situational aspects like a 2 minute drill. You can't duplicate that at practice.

I simply thought their nonchalant attitude at the beginning of that drive was a missed opportunity to see if their backup QB could lead them to a TD in a 2 minute drill. That's all.

He's a prima donna if he's telling the QB " I was open on that play. Why didn't you throw it to me?" after every play.
I know it isn’t much to go on but me culturally Deaf. We read body language better than anybody. That is -not- the demeanor I got from the interaction. They were engaged. While I understood parts of what they were saying I could only tell that they were spitballing.

I am pretty happy my QB and vet WB were discussing their first live bullets together against another team. What the crap people, there should be discussions what they each saw. I am pretty sure no prima donna is gonna ***** after the QB throws a TD pass. I was open for 10 yards man.... What a bunch of drivel by these writers who just want to push an agenda

Yeah I have responded to some of these wise cracks about Diggs but people choose to whine and not look at reality.
Yes I am talking about sports but it could be politics or anything.

I didn't notice, who was the starting 5 OL?

Then who took over when Mills came in?

I wasn't referring to that interaction. I meant if a WR continually says what I typed, regardless of if he's actually open or not is being a prima donna. It wasn't specifically targeted at Diggs.

IMO, if they're saying that kind of stuff when the team is losing he's a competitor & I have no problem with that. If you want to win games, get the ball to your play-makers.

If they're winning & they're still brining that noise, that's a prima Donna & I got no use for him.
