Preseason top 25 rankings

The 2009 season ended two days ago, which means it's time to look ahead to 2010. Thus, our early, early top 25 for next season (did we mention it's really early?).

This top 25 was put together on the assumption that underclassmen who haven't declared for the draft will stay in school. That's a dangerous assumption, of course, and we will revisit this early, early top 25 in about two weeks, when all the dust has settled in regard to the underclassmen.

The list looks as close to reality as it can get. I want to see how Bama' winning the championship effects there recruiting class and ability to grab stars from Cali and Florida.

I think Michigan will eventually make a crack at the top 25 and stay there. They have a solid future with Tate Forcier and I see Rich Rod finally getting his offense together.

imo texas should be higher than tcu and nebraska. losing suh will be too much. jerry hughes, daryl washington and rafael p too.

and whats up with usc always making the top 5 every year, even losing their head coach, after going 9-4.

because USC has a great recruiting class every year with tons of talent, moreso than just about any other school.

and Nebraska is incredibly well-coached and have an amazing defense, and while losing those guys will be key, their offense is going to be better, and the rest of the defense is great.

My Huskies in there at 19. Who would have ever thought that UCONN would be ranked ahead of Penn St. in football? Now I just have to hope that more than just Dan Orlovsky ends up on the Texans.

Nice to see the Huskers that high. Pelini is doing a good job here, just need to get some decent QB play in the big games.

based on my past posts I'm obviously not a fan of UT, but I would like to know how after 6+ top 10 classes, Texas drops off so much. QB play is the obvious, but if true, then Brown deserves a black mark and not a raise for not developing QB's properly so there is no severe drop off.
