Preseason Game 4 Thread: Bucs @ Texans

Since I can't watch the game, and its only second stringers I haven't been keeping upi with the game. It looks like the OL is doing well. I saw someone earlier question whether C.Taylor or A.Smith looks better, which I obviously can't see, but stat wise here's what I see. By subtracting the long run out of each of there totals, C.Taylor has about 2 yards more per carry.

A.Smith: 66-46 = 20 yards/6 carries = 3.666 yards/carry
C.Taylor: 48-12 = 36 yards/6 carries = 6 yards/carry

His stats actually continue to get better

C.Taylor: 57-12 = 45 yards/7 carries = 6.43

everyone looks good when you have big wide open spaces to run in.

Since training camp I have been really high on three players - Chris Taylor, Kevin Curtis, and Chris McKenzie. If McKenzie wasn't hurt, all three would have been looking real good right now. And to think, some of you were just saying "Chris Taylor is not a beast". I've got a backup avatar incase that doesn't work out too well, but I plan on keeping this one for awhile :thumbup

NFL Network hasn't shown the Texans other than a replay of the TD. Been swingin on TOs jock and the Cowplops big time.

Bush is having a big night tonight. 4carries for 14 yards 1 catch for -5 yards.

But with the wholes our O line is making imagine what he could do! lol just kidding

Pardon me if this has already been discussed in this thread. But who do we keep? Antwain Smith or Chris Taylor?

Edo...getting the streaming online for 4 bucks! it's great!

I will probably do that next preseason. Half way through the last one...not much reason. I have Sunday ticket for the regular season. Thanks for the heads up though.

I think we will keep A.Smith. The reason for it is he is a more physical runner then the other guys. Morency, Lundy, and Taylor all seem like speed backs. Any of them of course can work. This is so strange to me not having one obvious choice. I think any of these guys could start.

...get ready for the excuses because Sage and Cody are playing well-Porter looked good in the first game--now, if we could just get you-know -who up to speed,,,

Umm are you watching Porter in the same game I am? I think he isn't looking so hot.

do yall thing D.anderson is going to be our 5th reciever?

I have not seen him mentioned even one time tonight. And I would think he would be in the game if he was going to have a chance to make the team. Lewis is looking good however.

Wonder how long til we hear how jaw-dropping RB was with his 9 yds of toatl offense in the 1st half. He probably ran 250 yds East and West to get that, too. Which is the lesser of 2 weevils, TO or RB?

cut porter and keep pickett, i say.
is Pickett looking enough better than Porter to warrant giving up a draft pick? Remember, if Pickett makes the team, we have to give a draft pick to the 49ers.

He (Pickett) has looked like a #3 QB. Porter has just looked like an undrafted rookie trying to not look bad before the cut.

remember, whichever one we keep will be the 3rd QB. The 3rd QB will never play unless we lose our 1st 2 QB's. So, again I ask, is Pickett looking enough better than Porter to warrant us giving up a draft pick to the 49ers? Basically, the answer to the question is the QB that has the most potential. Which of the 2 has the most potential?

Its a good question. I don't think he will ever see the field either way. So giving up the Draft pick is rough. Still I would rather have Pickett if one had to start tomorrow. I have no idea what Porter can learn as I have not been coaching him.
