It's preseason Jerek!

Please!

Didn't we hear this all of last preseason?

And didn't ti turn out that the preseason was a pretty good precursor as to what was to come?

Just saying.

I will claim responsibility for stopping the Rams at the goal line.

I get so freaked and needing to let go some energy, I started doing situps.

It is better than doing pushups because you can still see the screen.

Thank you Gary Kubiak, thank you Bob McNair, thank you San Antonio for not giving us the game on either RADIO OR TV! farkenlowlifepieceofcrappenbaskets! Thanks fans for letting me keep up with the game here :)

I haven't seen the aggression I expected out of Richard Smith. Two preseason games, yes it's early, yes they're experimenting with plays and personnel.

All of that duly noted.

I am simply stating I would like to see more aggression and pressure in passing plays -- especially given our weak secondary.

I'm not really trying to predict anything or condemn anybody at this point, so don't make anything too much out of it.

And yes ... 2-0 feels pretty friggin good from where I'm sitting.

Great seasons happen because the good teams win and ugly one or two in the stretch. This was an ugly game, but we won it and that's all that matters. This is beginning to set the tone for the season. I like it a lot..........

VY is 2 for 10 for 15 yards. He also has 2 rushes for 3 yrds with a long of 4.

Not so good.

make that 3 for 11 for 31 yrds.

Anyone else see the sign in the Rams stadium that said "Got Reggie?" Well who needs Reggie when you've got Vernand tha Man! And Vince Young looks to be panning out well[/sarcasm] After tonight I am sold on taking Mario now more than I ever was, even though I was never against the pick. Why spend 50 mil on a guy when we have Morency and PBuch who did a great job tonight doing the same thing Bush would be doing for us?

Im sure Smith will be more aggressive in the regular season. There are many reasons not to show the teams blitz packages so early.

I am guessing that because of the size and placement of that sign, it was not ignored by the Texans running backs.

It's the first time they've won more than ONE game in the pre-season.

and we have scored more points in 2 games this preseason than we did in all 4 preseason games last year :whip:

I want to hear John McClain try to put a positive spin on that performance.

just saw the Texans vs Rams on ESPN (sportscenter), I guess it was ok, but at the end the only Texans stat was his 1 tackle. I just found that annoying

While I wasn't able to watch the game, it appears that there are plenty of things to be optomistic about. Some moments of really good play by the defense. Morency looks like a guy who can be the starter in this system. And after stumbling at the beginning, it sounded like Carr & the O-line got it together a little toward the end of the second half.

All that said....don't overblow this thing. It is still the pre-season and the Rams are not a very good football team. Being two and oh is great, but we'll know heck of a lot more when the Eagles come to town. There are plenty of things that are cause for concern.

I'm just hoping for more progress in the last two games and then we'll see what we really have when Philly comes to town.

Go Texans

Man oh Man

Rookie QB starting in pre-season and you have drawn a career long conclusion. Comical. It takes D lineman and QB's longer to develope than a RB. The truth won't be known for 3yrs. As for you previous post stating that no team goes in pre-season without 1's already assigned..The more veteran the team the more solidified the positions there. The Texans have never had a winning season, they hardly qualify as a team with positon locks. Kubiak said himself that all positions would be earned not given. Its just hard to demote the QB without causing distraction among the whole team. QB's are the leaders so when they lose the 1 its a big deal. The list of players that have lost the 1 from last year is long. What i find funny is that even when Sage does well you find a negative in it? Try to look at things objectively. I like Carr too, he obviously has more athleticism. But Sage seems cooler in the pocket and throws with more touch. I hope Carr gets it down, butits good to know we can be competitive with the 2.

I felt that the O-line had no problems at all in the first half. The problems came in that Lundy cannot pick up a blitz at all. Thats where the pressure was coming from. If he picks up those blocks I think we would have had no sacks again.

Didn't see the game, only heard parts and saw the highlights on the NFL Network, so I wasn't sure where the breakdown came from. I only saw the results in the box score of Carr being sacked and the overturned fumble call.

Go Texans

Well there was more going on than just that. Moulds said they didnt expect so many blitzes in the 1st Quarter of a pre-season game. And DD has the same problem with LBers. Carr isnt the most sacked QB in the league for nothing.

Morency picked up LBers like a pro. I think we should see him get the start next week. It will be a great test playing Dever, I'm already looking forward to it.

To be fair, all he said was "And Vince Young looks to be panning out well[/sarcasm]"... it may just be me, but that doesn't really sound like a career long conclusion.

missed the game tonight; I'd appreciate it if someone could give a recap - players who stood out or underperformed, how Mario fared, etc.

Thank you, I'm not saying Young will never succeed, it's just at this point and time, Mario is making more of a difference on this team than Young would have, as of right now. We would have used our #1 pick on a guy that is going to take 1-2 years to develop, which in all honesty it could take Mario that long to develop as well, but Mario is making progress and starting to make things happen here and there, whether it be directly him or opening things up for the other guys.
