Preseason Game 2 Thread: Texans @ Rams

Iroquois Joe said:
Hi Texans Fans, just checking in from work here in western NY.

Looks like you guys are winning, good. I like your team.

I didn't see Moulds with any receptions on NFL.com stats.
Is he hurt, not playing or not playing well?????

He was in 1st half. No catches his way, Rams were on the serious blitz / pressure so he did more his part of keeping th edouble team off AJ.

edit... and Sarg beat me to it.

For two weeks now it looks like our 2/3 guys are a lot better than the ones we are playing against. Looks like we have some good depth.

Kind of hard to evaluate QB's tonite. Sounds like the playbook was limited for Carr from what Moulds was saying on a quick interview with Field Pass. And Sage is really sounding good but against 2nd and 3rd teams. Just wish I could be SEEING what's going on. <sigh>

You know, Moulds in his sideline interview says that the Texans weren't expecting that much blitzing.

What?!?

How could you not expect that after the Ram-Colts game? If I know this, they had to know that.

I thought that odd as well. It was even mentioned on the board I think that we should plan for the Rams constant pressure with how they played their 1st game.

Some are of the opinion that if Sage had to start we would be 1st rnd pick bound again.

I still am. I will paypal you $25 at seasons end if

a.) Sage starts 75% of our games

b.) We pick outside the top 5 in next years draft.

I suspect that they weren't doing much game planinig for this one according to Kubs. However, they will for next week in Denver.

How did Mario do? (vince is doing horrible right now BTW)

Statistically, he only got 1 tackle. BUT... from what I've gathered, he looked much, much better than last week. The whole DL stepped it up a notch.

We should let Sage start a game, only so we can get Denis Leary to come over to the broadcast booth.

Woohooo, the August heroes strike again! Bench AJ. Bench Carr. Start all the backups they produce!!!!!

There are no starters yet. "Start all the backups they produce!" Absolutly, its training camp clean slate. Carr hasnt been a hero in any month yet since the Vikings game 2yrs ago. The people that produce in training camp get the 1. I guess you hand Carr the 1 regardless of if he gets out played. I know, I know...Sage is against 2/3rds, But then so is the talent around him on O. As soon as Sage takes snaps with the 1's the controversy begins

Panthers over Jags 17-10. Final

Byron 4/4 for 52 yards, though wasn't on a scoring drive.

Looks like your vying for scouting position for the Texans, I agree though, after last weekend you have to know that they were gonna be coming.

I would like to see some statistics on what happens to teams that go 2-0 in preseason and how they compared with their regular season games.

I stopped reading after this. Find me one NFL training camp where every starting job is open for competition in camp.

That's right, there isn't one.
