Preseason Game 2 Thread: Texans @ Rams

Not real fond of the defensive playcalling so far, but give credit: we bend but we don't break. Very solid first half overall, we'd give up yardage but come back strong and stall the Rams' drive.

Morency made it look easy ... several weeks ago, watching him in camp, I wasn't sure how long it would take Kubiak to get the guy to stop dancing in the backfield. Looks like he's already done it.

Carr looked pretty good but he still looks too cautious to me ... he just looks a little bit tentative at this point. Not sure if he's thinking too much or what. It looked like he was locking onto AJ too much on a handful of plays. Overall though I thought he handled the pressure well, and especially after those first few series, Kubiak opened up the playcalling.

Kris Brown will be the end of me.

I just want to watch a game where I don't see P Buch make some grossly obvious effort to shy away from contact. Call me picky, but he had an easy 2-4 yards extra on a long PR when he ran straight out of bounds to avoid the contact. Still, he has looked improved defensively.

Mario Williams didn't notch four sacks in a half; when is he going to start producing?

McCleon is getting dusted repeatedly out there.

My observations early into the third.

td rams...... bah Had em stopped with them going on for it on 4th a 3 and PB with pass interference.

Jones has also struggled with injuries throughout this preseason

At least Jones doesn't have to worry about being labelled a bust. Reggie Williams will keep him looking good! :shades:

I told you the #2 CB is going to be the make or break on this defense. We have a stout front 7, but a gaping hole in the secondary

How a defender in this league can't even turn his head I'll never understand.

I have no idea what the coaches say to these guys but I rarely see our CBs play the ball. They are almost always playing the man. When is the last time you saw a CB on our team break on the ball to try to intercept a pass? =p I know he wasn't looking for a pick when he had no deep help, but that was some weak defense.

There's the Buchanon we are used to seeing, I was getting worried

Didn't Simmons play well last week? Might not be all doom at the #2 CB. Doesn't look great though.

c'mon PBuch turn your head, tight coverage but you have to look at the ball

At least he's getting IN THERE. Any action... ANY ACTION AT ALL for Pbuc is good to me, penalties, that's the next thing to work on, but at least he's getting contact :)

side note, Jags score.. Greg Estandia, 10 Yd pass from Quinn Gray

who...... who?

You know..their saviors! Quinn Gray should be starting over Byron Leftwich...he actually threw a TD :sarcasm:

why all the hatin on pbuc, he had a good game, 2 30+ pr, one forced fumble, one recovered and returned it 10 yards, plus he had a nice tackle on that interference drive...hes definetely gettin better...if mario was a cb you guys would be freakin out over those stats...

You're right, he had a good game ... he's a world better now than he was last year. That PR pisses me off though ... don't make too much of it, because I'm not ... but it just annoys me.
