I was going to make a 'smart' comment about how it may be Capers ball time...but I can't remember a 3 score lead...
 
I simply can't believe what I've witnessed tonight. HOUSTON, WE HAVE A BONA FIDE FOOTBALL TEAM!!!! 1st preseason game or whatever, I am IMPRESSED!!!!!!! McNabb might want to call Lloyd's of London and up his policy!!!!!! Sept. 7th can't come soon enough.
 
Yeah, KC fans better pray Green doesn't get hurt cause their backup sucks. He's been off the mark all night.

Also, I don't buy Herm Edwards as a coach. He makes great sound bites but that's about it. His philosophy sounds Capers-ish to me. About keeping games close ect. This KC offense has been producing for years, why mess with it? You want to obviously get this D in gear, but does that mean the offense has to stop scoring all the sudden? Why not win games 35-0 instead of settling for 14-10? Sounds retarded to me.

well this is a learning experience that should go along way with this team.. giving up an onside kick..gives Kubiak some ammo ..


what I get out of reading this is HOUSTON is finally getting some depth (meaning I know the offenses/defenses are vanilla,but we are seeing our depth is getting better being we increased our lead after the starters left after the series)

If you go out of bounds you can't be the first player to touch the ball...the guy who recovered the onsides kick had one foot out of bounds before he snagged the ball.

The player that recoverd the onside kick stepped out of bounds and was the first to touch the ball before he re-established himself inbounds. Illegal touching, 5 yd penalty, rekick.

*edit* no rekick, texans ball.
 
Chief's 80 had a foot out of bounds, so the fashion police...er...refs reviewed the play and determined that the ball is going to the Texans.

I can't wait till tomorrow to see this game. Just watching the Texans helmet and KC helmet go back and forth on the screen is killing me!!!

I don't know how they'd have described it. Refs called it a foul, for illegal touching by the Chiefs (out-of-bounds ineligibility) then changed it to straight out-of-bounds, since the Chiefs guy never stepped back inbounds before catching it.

Basically they do not report anything, the screen locks up for a few minutes (happens now and then) and we have no clue what is going on. Getting the specified play-info here sure helps until the regular season hits me (Along with the game DVD's I get) :)

The local news waid the game was sold out.

What a way to end the game:
"A teenage boy is in serious condition after being run over in northeast harris county..."

Now I gotta worry that it was someone I know.
 
The Chiefs' game announcers kept calling us the Denver South. Even went as far as saying that Kubiak must have brought Denver's "Bootleg" play with him. Even said a time or two that Houston was "booting" them with that play. The announcers kept saying how well the Texans looked and how well organized they were playing.

I'm very optimistic. Bring on the Rams!:mario:

He was double teamed all night....didn't get much going. He was in the backfield, but not quick enough to disrupt. He only played a quarter.

Ch13 interviewed his mom after the game. She rolled her eyes and complained about the double teams....she said she just wanted to go out there and....."

There is still a huge amount of PSL/Season ticket holders....

Seats are paid for, hence the reason for sold out games.
