Pre Combine Mock

Texian

Hall of Fame
1. Oakland - Jamarcus Russell, logic here is QB 1st WR 2nd is a stronger play vs WR 1st QB 2nd.

2. Detroit - Joe Thomas, Martz needs Thomas to protect in his passing game. Martz had Pace in STL.

3. Cleveland - Adrian Peterson, Droughns is on the backside and sliding. RB 1st NT 2nd is a stronger play vs NT 1st vs RB 2nd.

4. Tampa - Brady Quinn, spleenless Sims only got a 2 yr contract extension.

5. Arizona - Levi Brown, by and far the weakest position on team of talented players. Whisenhunt is a O minded guy.

6. Washington - Amobi Okoye, Washington is absent a true starter in their interior line.

7. Minnesota - Calvin Johnson, a better Moss goes to Minneapolis.

8. Houston - Jamaal Anderson, With Peek gone and Babin a pass rush specialist at best, Texans get their perfect bookend.

9. Miami - Ted Ginn Jr, Cameron retools the O and special teams with one pick.

10. Atlanta - LaRon Landry, Petrino plugs the biggest hole in Atlanta's D.

11. San Francisco - Patrick Willis, Nolan fell in love with him at the Senior Bowl, says he was better than Demeco.

12. Buffalo - Dewayne Jarrett, a good compliment to Lee Evans.

13. St Louis - Gaines Adams, a solid pick to fix the D.

14. Carolina - Paul Posluzny, solid replacement for Dan Morgan.

15. Pittsburgh - Leon Hall, plug and play in the Ds weakest position.

16. Green Bay - Meshawn Lynch, Ahman Green's replacement.

17. Jackonsville - Charles Johnson, upgrades Jags weak pass rush.

18. Cincinnati - Quentin Moses, can also play OLB in 3-4 if Cincy makes that move, also J Smith is a FA.

19. Tennessee - Dewayne Bowe, adding another needed weapon for VY.

20. NY Giants - Lawrence Timmons, LT is back.

21. Denver - Darelle Revis, the best player to fill Williams spot.

22. Dallas - Alan Branch, immediate upgrade to older Ferguson. Dallas D fell apart in their last 4 games.

23. Kansas City - Sidney Rice, upgrades weak receiving corp.

24. New England - Daymeion Hughes, A Samuels is a FA.

25. NY Jets - Reggie Nelson, immediate upgrade to the secondary.

26. Philadelphia - Robert Meachem, upgrade over Brown and Stallworth is a FA.

27. New Orleans - Jarvis Moss replaces Grant who is FA.

28. New England - Michael Griffin upgrades FS and a backup to Harrison.

29. Baltimore - Adam Carriker, allows Ngata to move to NT.

30. San Diego - Craig Davis, upgrades weak receiving corp.

31. Chicago - DeMarus Tyler, fills in nicely while Johnson is in jail.

32. Indianapolis - Ben Grubbs, upgrades injured line. Protecting Peyton is a must.

Stuckey or Higgins Al Davis takes the fastest with the 1st pick in RD 2.

umm, maybe you should look again because he has Thomas going 2nd to the Lions, so it would be kinda hard for the Cardinals to get him if he has already been drafted...

Unless he's saying Joe Thomas is not quite the prospect everyone thinks he is. Don't know about that one.

Just a knee jerk... overall it's one of the better ones I've seen. I won't say that Allen brach won't fall to dallas. Will say I'll be very surprsed if he falls this far.

No way Dallas doesn't take Reggie Nelson. Their biggest weakness is FS, and if Nelson falls to them, they won't let him fall any farther.

This mock is pretty interesting. First I like the J. Anderson pick for us. All of the other desired picks are off the board, so why not go with a legit compliment to add with Mario. Plus I really do think we will add a semi-big name DT thru free-agency(Rod Coleman). I also would like to pick up the young kid from Louisville but at #8, I think that's reaching alil too much.

My ideal front 7, you GOTTA luv it!!
ANDERSON....WEAVER....R.COLEMAN.....MARIO
GREENWOOD...MECO....R.ALEXANDER(OK 2ND RD PICK)
CB and FS will also be addressed thru FA. Don't expect Samuels or Clements cuz price is too high, but I also would like to see Chris Houston picked in 3rd rd if he's available, the guy can play some man-to-man.

my question is....is r. alexander better than greenwood????if so i think the better talent needs to go opposite of mario.....therefore we can stop the run on that side...cu we all know they dont run at mario at all.......

Interesting mock. I don't see Calvin Johnson dropping to the no.6. He's the best prospect overall in this year's draft. It's a dilemma for the teams picking in the top 5. All those teams have their franchise wide receivers other than Tampa Bay and I see Johnson going to the Bucs. Arizona is another interesting team. They need o-line help but I don't see them drafting Levi Brown that high if Joe Thomas is gone. They might be one of the teams who may go with a Gaines Adams or trade down. As for the Texans I don't see us drafting Jamal Anderson or Gaines Adams if available. I don't think the team will go back to back years drafting defensive ends and even though it might make sense I just don't see them doing that this year. I'd rather see us add a corner or safety and if A.D.'s available we pick him.

I have to agree with this. Brown that high isn't going to happen unless he has a monster Sr. Bowl and Combine, and even then it would probably be a reach. The more likely scenario, if Arizona really wanted O-line help in the 1st, would be for them to trade down and pickup Brown then. Of course you run the risk of him being taken by somebody else if you trade down too far. I was thinking the Texans might go for him too, but not at #8.

There are alot of fans that seem to think we need to get another DE and move Weaver to DT. I think this would be a mistake. I know weaver was used as a DT on passing downs and bring in Babin or Peek on the end, but I'm not sure Weaver could be an every down DT. He is listed at 280 lbs. and most DT's are normally over 300 lbs. They have to be big enough to take the pounding and stuff the run on every down. I just think Weaver is too small to do that on every down. Also, if we drafted a DE, would that mean getting rid of Babin and Peek?

My personal choice at this time is to trade down and get more picks and select the BPA at OL, DT, FS, or CB in the 1st round. JMHO!
