Posluszny in Orange Bowl

Texans86

Rookie
I know many of you are watching the Orange Bowl, and I was wondering what you were thinking about Posluszny. He's a junior, and I'm not sure if he is coming out or not. Penn State is known for their linebackers, and I was curious if where he might go if he goes out this year. I figure he'll be somewhere in the first round.

If he declares, he is a first round lock. He could also be the top LB taken. In today's game, it appears that the offense is running to the other side, but he has been blocked on ocassion...a la Hawk. However, he seems to be very solid in coverage, even delivering a big hit. He also has made his presence known, and stops the run when it comes towards him. That is what I look for in the 3-4 MLB.

not any more....he just got his knee shredded ala mcgahee...count him out of your mock drafts folks, FSU just ended that mans career

i wouldn't say it got shredded--maybe a sprain. at least the replay of that was watchable, mcgahee's was absolutely gross.

hate to see that kinda thing happen to a young man, hopefully its not that serious. anyways he is a Junior and if he can recover will get a chance to come back to form next year at Penn State.

and no he is not on my Mock Draft anyway (never declared) :ok:

It wasn't as bad as McGahee's but possibly a torn ACL still which would absolutely count him out this year, but they just took him for an x-ray so it might not end up being that bad. We'll have to wait and see in the coming days, but that last replay looked like an ACL.

Paul is a good linebacker, and a good leader, but he's not athletic enough to be a first rounder in the NFL. I see him like EJ Henderson at best.

maybe we should draft you, we might need a new kicker.

I've got a few years, but that is my first goal. If that fails, I will simply become a GM, or professional advanced scout.

I see him much differently. He is very athletic.

The most athletic LB in the draft is a toss up between manny lawson and ahmad brooks IMHO.

Paul Posluszny reminds me more of Tedy Bruschi :twocents:

Have they released an update on his injury status yet? It looked like it could be a torn ACL from the replay, but you never really know. Last I saw on ESPN they said he was scheduled for an MRI today but didn't have anything more to add, but that was a couple hours ago, so has anyone heard any kind of update?

Manny Lawson is a terror and if we stay in a 3-4 he should be our second rounder, I would even give up Davin Joseph or Gilles for him right now.

really? you think really highly of him. I do too, but maybe not THAT high.

Although, if we were to wait until the 4 to take our future G in Luiti, we could easily take lawson at pick 33 IF he last.

YTF if Lawson test out the way he plays he might fall to the second, and I scoop him up. If I really want Joseph or Gilles I trade back into the second and get them. I think some of the OTs that fall can play OG in this league and be very good and more athletic, so yeah I think that highly of him. I watched the bowl game and some tape of the guy if he is blocked by one guy it is over, plus he is fast and can drop into coverage. As I watched him I was thinking that is what I saw out of Demarcus Ware last year.

I know beerlover and I really like Davin Joseph and Gilles(split between the two monsters right now) but Manny Lawson on gamefilm looks good. I mean real good. Gilles does to, but I must say in the second after we have already traded down and gotten Winston, Lawson would be looking to good for me to pass on. think about it we could package a 3rd and something to move back into the second and snatch one of them anyway. Or if we did trade down we would have two top 10 second round picks so we could get lawson and either Gilles or Joseph. Speaking of which whom do you like better?

Joseph will be a better LG :goodbad: Gilles a better RG

to answear this question intelligently I'll have to wait until after the combine :ok:

agreed. Giles is more of a monster and will excell at RG and LG. Joseph will be my accounts be a better LG than RG, but pretty dang good either way.

My sleeper RG only prospect is Tauti Luiti from USC.

Reported tonight (1-6) on WCAU NBC10 tv Philadelphia. He has two partiality torn ligaments in right knee. No surgery required. I am sure there will be a link to this sometime soon.

Hmmm, AJ Hawk has 4.5 speed, amazing hands, great tackling abilities.

It's been a while since there was a LB as athletic as AJ

Look no farther than the 2005 NFL draft for a more athletic LB, and multiple ones at that.
