After we talked I went back and read up and watched Ruiz some more. I hadn’t watched much of him as others because I don’t think OB will look at C as he seems to be I love with Martin. Wow first off I didn’t know he was only 20 years old. I was Worried that he wasn’t big enough at 307 lbs but man at 20 years old he can easily put on 20 lbs of good weight. I have to agree with you guys that have been touting him. @40 he would be a steal.
I've never seen him play kudos for you just going by what I read. For example your post I learned more about him and by no means am I a scout or coach. Allow me to ask though I see him labeled as C but also as OG. Does he play both? Texans BoB likes versatile multi position players no?

Yes, he’s versatile.

I had reservations about him at G because of his weight. At 20 years old he shouldn’t have any problem packing on 20 lbs and getting stronger. Not that he isn’t strong enough. So yes he could play both and would be a solid pick at40.

Wow, OL was a strong position in RD1. Wilson gone and Ruiz gone early. Little surprising OT's, Josh Jones, Houston and Ezra Cleveland, Boise State slid out of RD1 and if both slid to 40 that would be just as surprising. They're both big and athletic LT's by trade. Some analyst project both of them starting out or changing positions to OG. Both are another version of Isiah Wilson. Jones has been the much healthier of the two so that sways my choice quite a bit.

I did 1 draft simulator where Jones fell to the Texans at 40......all other tries had him gone in RD1. I could live with Jones at 40 if he's there.

Another player that could be there at 40.....OC, Lloyd Cushenberry, LSU. Another rock solid OL that is completely worthy of RD2 consideration.

I really don't think the Texans will go OL and I really wanted Ruiz but he's gone...OB has consistently mentioned safety and all the top ones are still on the board. If they're chosen before 2.40, that will leave one of the expected edge rushers to be available.

Well since the Texans have reportedly signed another safety, maybe they won't pull the trigger on one at 2.40
