How many games will the Texans win?
 
Too early to tell.

A month ago I would have voted 9-12, and that is still my pick if I have to choose an actual figure... but I want more time. I've been to Training Camps, I have read articles and I have had discussion after discussion about the many aspects of the 2006 season. There is only one thing left to see..... preseason. Once I see our first drive against KC in person this Saturday, I will be able to get on here and reiterate my postulation. But until I can watch the offense and defense handle (or not be able to handle) the Chiefs, I really can't do anything but guess. I just need more evidence to convict!
 
Been saying it all year on this site and the whole world 10 games on the win. A better defense last year and they would have won four of the last five games that were decided in the fourth quarter as the defense broke down and the other team rallied to beat them.. That's what I base my vote in addition to a more improved offense and an exciting more productive coaching staff.
 
Andre Johnson said 14 so I'd have to go with that. There's nobody closer and knows what's going on with the team more than the players involved :redtowel:
 
I figure 7 and 9.. because of all the new systems we are learning..
but you never know.. S.D. went 4-12 to what 12-4 in a year?

and I think we are even better than the 2004 team that went 7-9.. just depends on how we learn the scheme on both sides of ball
 
I still feel confident that 9 or 10 wins is possible. But half that many wins would still be a 100% improvement over last year...and that's gotta be a good thing.
 
I am shocked someone said we won't win 4.. I am curious... we upgraded may positions... unless the schedule (which is hard) is why someone would think we wont win more than 4)

It was SWTBound. I could have predicted that. He won't happy until some mad scientist invents a time machine and he goes back in time and somehow makes VY the #1 pick in the 2006 draft.

I'm going with eight wins, but I wish 5 wins and 8 wins weren't in the same category. 5 wins would be really disappointing, even after last year.

I would say it's too early to tell, but we'll probably have a dozen more of these polls before the first real game and a dozen more throughout the season. We should have a poll with bets on how many polls there will be. :)
 
I think we will be very competitive. Most of the games will be decided on 1 or 2 plays. i picked at least 9 wins. We have run defense this year. If we would of had run defense last year we would of won at least 5. Our offense has always blown. So add a good defense to an upgraded offense, and you have a winner.
 
I took the 5-8 option in the hope that we win 7 or 8 which I would see as more than an achievement for this team. The coaching staff seems to have helped already from reports so 2 wins turning into 7-8 should be as good as winning the Superbowl for us this year... Imagine the confidence that would give the team for the following year :shades:
 
I think 8-8 is still optimistic for this team. They still have to prove they have an offensive line that can protect Carr long enough for the offense to be able to score some points. They are not good enough from an offensive standpoint to be able to rely on the defense to win games. Their defense was lackluster last year to say the least. It will be an interesting season for the team! :tease:

8-8 is my prediction.

Looking forward to this season is a understatement. I can't wait. I'm actully pumped up about the preseason games just to realy see what we have.
 
7-9 was the record two years ago. I believe Kubes could have walked in without a change and gotten that record for the Texans this year. Offseason changes upgraded 2 games and higher quality coaching 2 more......

11-5 in 2006/7, first playoffs...out in first round....need one more year of maturity.

This is the point, to me. We can't look "realistically" at last year and make a prediction because of the situation. We have to stretch because reality went out the window last year. 2-14 to 14-2 is doing that....it may be crazy but it ain't dumb
 
I'm gonna stick with 9-7 possibly 10-6 with a chance at a wild card. I think Indy isnt a shoe-in this year and the conference will be much tighter.
