Yes, if the Texans lose Sunday, they'll obviously be in line to draft Reggie Bush. But though the fans might care about that, the players don't. So please, no talk about Houston tanking the game.

bigTEXan8 said:Au contraire my ***. I admit, the differences in opinions is rampant throughout this message board, which is what makes this place so cool. But hoping for a loss because people have a man-crush on Bush is not being supportive for the team. Being passionate about losing or winning is one thing, wanting to lose is another. That's my problem.
Honoring Earl 34 said:The 2005 Texans are considered a failure whether their 2-14 or 3-13 . The league and other NFL fans won't applaud our valor if we win the last game . They 'll probably look at us as a bunch of dumbasses who could 'nt even do that right .
To beat the ones to the punch, I didn't say or mean that the decisions made have been wise. Just hopefully the ones TO BE MADE.Texan Asylum said:That, My friends, is why people that make the decisions get the big bucks. You gotta make the decisions that are the wisest and not necessarily the most popular.

Whether it's the Colts looking to protect their star players from injury before the playoffs begin or the Texans looking to have their team fit & healthy for next season, the logic is the same.
So why is it that some people can't understand this rather simple concept?![]()
disaacks3 said:No more "tank talk", huh? Here's a couple of other questions to ponder, since we ARE down to a ONE game scenario.
1. Why didn't the Colts play their best players and try to win their last two games? Why is it OK for them to TANK games while looking to the future?
2. Why did the Texans send DD to have his knee scoped today? Why did they have G-Funk get surgery as well? Why is the Texans Organization not "playing through the pain" to put the BEST team on the field THIS weekend?
The answers are very simple and DON'T require that you be some sort of traitor. The answers require a bit of logic and hope for the future.

El Tejano said:Listen to how that sounds: WE MUST LOSE!!!
Frankly I don't ever wanna be a fan of a team that would forfeit being competitive for an uncertainty of the future. I haven't seen The Texans on TV since the Baltimore game and that is because they are losing. You wanna lose that is how you get treated. I would like to see my team play hard to win as a reward for still being a fan after this season.
barzilla said:Again, why are you calling us tank-talkers? We never mentioned tanking. You did. This is a different situation than last year. Last year finishing 8-8 would have been seen as a real accomplishment for an expansion team. We have two things going on this year. First, we ain't an expansion team anymore and second there is little difference between 2-14 and 3-13.
Tanking- purposely losing
No one on this board suggested they should fumble on purpose or throw a back-breaking interception to seal the deal. We simply said we thought they would be better off losing. We're fans. We have no control over the situation. Stop being melodramatic with the tank-talking label.
See, now you're getting silly.Malloy said:Agreed. Should we consider tanking the entire 06-season too only because some stud CB comes out in the next draft ?
