If anything over the last few years, even for an expansion team there can be more a case that can be made that the Texans have handed jobs out to inexperienced players like candy at Halloween.

That's kind of my point. He is unwilling to continue to use rookies because they make mistakes. With, what I suspect with his butt on the line, he is voting for the more consistant play of more veteran folks to win near tearm. He/they built the defense in the start using mostly veteran people including at deth spots for that reason. He is just playing close to the vest.

I think at some point your team needs to grow up and should not be dependent on more than a couple of rookies as key contributors. This team is still starting CC Brown a 6th round rookie, using a 4th round rookie as its primariy (starting) KR and have two others as the top back-up at thier position (morency & Travis Johnson). The 5th round pick made the final squad and the 7th rounder is on the practice squad. That is 6 draft picks all of whom have some role with the team. IMO, that's not really conservative.

If they were being close to the vest from a personnel standpoint Sharper, Foreman and Glenn would not have been replaced with younger and faster players.

However, those players are not rookies, but experienced players who are younger and faster. May or may not be better, time will tell on that front. IMO, if Capers didn't feel he HAD to have a winning season, he would probably have cut Hollings and Bradford and had some less experienced folks on board. The sad thing is that there MIGHT be a better chance to have a better team with the younger guys.

How much younger do you want the skill position with the Texans to get?

Outside of Bradford, who is not ancient player, where are these grizzled veterans that Capers is banking a winning season on. Adding two rookies your skill unit is significantly adding to the inexperience level. If they were being conservative they would have kept Reggie Swinton (who is over 30) instead of giving the job to a rookie. Not fans huge fans of either one, Bradford and Hollings, but they are not representative of Capers feeling like he needs to win now.
