Pitts Arrested

colossal waste of time charging Pitts for a FELONY in such a trivial matter. They don't care about wasting our time and money though....we just let em abuse it.

Go read about the TEA bureacrats. You'd think with all of the letters behind their names they'd have one person in the office with the compentence to check a bloody calander for a conflict.
Nope.
They sceduled the elementary TAKs test the same day as the primaries March 3rd. Seems like a small deal. But now all of the seniors are facing later dates and shorter deadlines to get stuff into the colleges. Just stupid malfesance, arrogance and laziness.

I blame the cops more than the prosecutor.

Prosecutors have a working relationship with police officers, so most will pass the buck to the grand jury rather than risk pissing off their law enforcement peers.

As long as the system works, I have no qualm.
There's always bad apples everywhere, including in the military, and the government.
The people can and always act as surveillance to help keep all branches of the law in check.
We don't need to malign the folks who are doing their job.

Except if you are Texas Supreme Court Justice David "Firebug" Medina who got indicted by a Harris County Grand Jury for Arson..

The funny thing is that "Chucky" Rosenthal DIDN'T want Medina indicted, and is now going to DISMISS the case, regardless of the indictment.
Medina lives down the block from me.

My brothers know his daughter and they say no. I say why did he turn himself in? They are rebuilding it now and it is for sale. I don't agree with my brothers.

Eh, it's a felony because if you evade arrest in a car, that automatically makes it a felony.

These cases happen a lot--person doesn't realize they are detained, drives off, cop is pissed, charges will be filed because the police officer doesn't want to hear whatever crap excuse someone has.

The Medina sort of case is really unusual in a lot of ways...

grand jurors talking
grand juries being that aggressive
DA says screw the grand jury

There's lots of weird stuff with that one. Not likely they had enough evidence for prosecution though.

There was evidence found by the arson specialists that the house was burned down.Second time in ten years. Their insurance policy was dropped six months before the fire and they were going into foreclosure. Rosenthal and the judge didn't want to hear about it.Something is going on.Who would listen to Rosenthal now? I can't believe he still has his job.
